  1. Are there any names out there, male or female, that are pronounced differently between languages or even within a language? For example Caroline/Carolina.

  2. #WritersCoffeeClub 30. Do you label your works as LGBTQIA+? Why or why not?

If it is specifically needed to label it as LGBTQIA+, I do. If it's not needed, I leave it to the reader to find out. There will most likely be at least one or more characters in any of my stories who would fit the LGBTQIA+ umbrella term, and I write about them as much as I do cisgendered heterosexual individuals. This variation is normal and none should be treated different from the others. #Writing #WritingQuestion

  3. I did plotting for book 2 of my current WIP and no matter how hard I try the dynamic for this couple is so fluffy: 'I want to hold your hand as the entire world spits and curses us' type of vibe. It'll be a while but wow will this be a shift from my typical 'the love interest is also the villain' novels.

Question: Are other authors dragged around by the wills of their characters?

  4. #writingquestion do you ever write (or have you read) someone misspeak where it wasn't important to the plot?
For example, I just said to my wife, "This isn't going to be my first appointment... I mean my last appointment."
These speech patterns are a normal part of everyday speech, but I can't recall seeing it in literature. Everyone is precise and perfect (enough) because it would be too hard for the reader.
    Are there counterexamples?

  5. Getting back into writing after weeks of studying for my final and most terrifying exam is surprisingly tough!

I thought I had been yearning enough for writing to just burst into words.

What does help you with this, #writingcommunity ?

  8. I’ve noticed a lot of people are anti-prologue, and I’m not sure why. What’s wrong with more story? I like story. I don’t think I’ve ever written one, but neither have I skipped one when reading a book. #prologue #story #WritingCommunity #WritingQuestion

  9. One of the things I do as a #writer is read my work aloud. I do it to check if my #writing has flow and musicality. However, I have no idea what constitutes flow to #Deaf readers. How does #rhyme and #meter work for Deaf readers and writers, especially with a language as irregular as English? #WritingCommunity #WritingQuestion #Poetry
