  1. bring back the #Oxford to #Witney rail line - and extend it to #Cheltenham. I recall reading somewhere that there was a proposal to extend it back in the early days of #railways, and that #GreatWestern turned it down for fear it might take traffic away from other routes. Clearly these folks didn't understand the concept of a #network. A branchline that ends in the sticks is fundamentally a planning failure, as usage thins out towards the remote end. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c8d225

  2. We're looking for just the right piece of artwork to set on the accent wall of our sitting room.
Since it's a forest green, I'm thinking a coppery image of:
    a Rhodesian Ridgeback
    a cheetah, lion, or leopard
a hoopoe or some other bird
    a fox or stag
    or something steampunk
Would love to support a local artist here in West Oxfordshire

  3. Visiting the famdem in #Oxfordshire so took the opportunity to do some #parkrun tourism at #Witney and meet up with an old friend. Very icy, very narrow, ended up being a 10k by the time I’d jogged there and back, but what an invigorating way to start the weekend. Now off to visit some crocodiles…

  4. Well, I have what can only be described as a haul. Shout out to #TruckRecords in #Witney for a very reasonably priced used vinyl section. Charity shops all bore fruit. Some interesting ones. Will share more later!

  5. yes, the absence of a #rail link to #Witney is one of the most glaring gaps in #Oxford's transport network: bbc.co.uk/news/articles/c0k72l

  6. What's that, girl? Two children are lost somewhere in this bookshop?

Yeah, I should probably find them and take them home for lunch.

  7. Very pleased with the Lib Dem win in #Witney too. This is Cameron’s old constituency, since held by ERG member Robert Courts who was also Solicitor General. Previously held by Douglas Hurd, it’s been a safe Tory seat since it was formed.

  8. I'm normally a bit sniffy about any bike stand design that isn't the classic Sheffield Stand, but I rather liked the look of these I saw in #Witney today. Maybe not quite as versatile as the Sheffield Stand but a lovely & simple bit of design. #cycling #BikeTooter #biketoot

  9. feasibility study for a "new" #railway link #Oxford to #Witney reported on the radio this morning. news.oxfordshire.gov.uk/oxford Ten times they used the word "new". Not once they mentioned that the link existed until 1962 en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oxford,_
