Yeah that's a good idea. Have some ideas for the reading group collaboration between #SocialCoop and #WeCo, let's hope that gets people interested.
We are not part of the Fediverse unfortunately. If there is someone who would/could make us part of it I'm sure it would be worth considering. Not sure if that's possible, as we are not decentralised.
Anyway, if #SocialCoop needs to raise more funds to pay devs more, #WeCo Community Grant provides an easy way to do so :)

I like the way you are exploring inter-cooperation and mutual promotion. The social.coop account is just used for internal updates and such, I believe, so IMO is would be odd to use it to re-toot this. If you want to ask for social.coop's endorsement of the #WeCo offer, wouldn't it make sense to start a poll on Loomio? (Maybe you already did that?) The best approach may be to recruit people here to cross-post or otherwise post on WeCo...

#WeCo, a #platformcoop social media is offering a community grant for #SocialCoop.
We donate 1$/week for every Social Coop user who has made a post to WeCo that week.
20 users who post there at least once a week would mean over 1000$ extra funds for Social Coop a year. This can provide better pay for developers.
It can be about anything - sharing a link to a funny video, good song, interesting article.
Please volunteer here:

Here's a #WeCo (coop replacement for Reddit) poll on what is the best idea for a new #coop posted in Mastodon.
https://www.weco.io/b/root/p/leosammallahti-1540456658922/vote
Includes ideas from @cliffregis, @cjd , me and @mmeyer .
If you got ideas, post them, use #coopidea or tag me. I will use them in what I plan to be a monthly poll at https://www.weco.io/b/coopidea.
If you wanna get involved with WeCo, register as an user or/and join our discord at https://discord.gg/Xuxet48.
If you're a developer, tag @KingMob in the discord!

#WeCo, #platformcoop replacement for Reddit is shifting from Google Analytics to something more ethical.
As we are governed and owned by us users, there is a binding poll on what alternative we should use here:
https://www.weco.io/b/root/p/weco-1544471522708/vote
Anyone can register and vote in the poll or add a new option.
If there are other ways we can improve our privacy and be more ethical, message me or propose it on WeCo.
Here is a link describing how our democratic user governance works.

Me and @GuerillaOntologist interviewed Emma Back from Equal Care Cooperative in the first episode of Platform Cooperative Podcast.
It's a UK multi-stakeholder #coop owned by care givers and receivers.
Here's a link to the video of the interview:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PWLigOBOmbwHere's a #WeCo branch of the coop:
https://www.weco.io/b/equalcarecoop/They have a crowdfunding campaign going on over here:

@dazinism @anaulin @strypey @nicksellen @loshmi @captainbland
This was such a great discussion, I archived it in #WeCo category for social coop, #workercoops and economics.
https://www.weco.io/b/socialcoop/
Making discussions like these are what I think makes social coop brilliant.
Hopefully we can develop Social Coop into a 24/7 "helpline" for coops around the world to ask for similar advice and support.

Top quality toot. I'm pretty sure this could be implemented in #WeCo , where @KingMob will soon preside over the development.
We have a democratic process for users to propose and vote on new features.
https://medium.com/@weco/democratic-user-governance-in-action-how-the-decision-pipeline-in-weco-works-e08b732b3e33We could develop a system where devs who implement user proposals would be rewarded according to:
- How much users value the feature according to a democratic process.
- How much other devs value the effort according to score-voting your proposing.

DuckDuckGo is a privacy respecting alternative to Google search that doesn't track users, but only shows ads based on the words searched. The #platformcoop movement should set up an DuckDuckGo ad purchasing cooperative for #platformcoops.
Someone choosing to use DuckDuckGo instead of Google might also be the right type of person advertise #Resonate to when they use it search for Spotify or #WeCo to when they search for Reddit.
I can donate 10$ for ads to every coop who joins.

#WeCo, a #platformcoop replacement for Reddit, has got a 680£ from UnFound (the worlds first platform coop accelerator) to recruit users.
We won't use it to buy ads from big corporations, but by funding projects like #SocialCoop. We offer SC members different "mini tasks" individual members and existing Social Coop working groups can do that WeCo will reward by donating to Social Coop.
Here's a link and a screenshot about the post on Loomio:

@GuerillaOntologist @Matt_Noyes
Thanks!!
Did it a while ago and thought I'd make a post on Social Coop Loomio describing it and lot of ideas I have for it, but haven't had the time to do so yet.
Josh (and others too), make sure to check our discussion about 9 concrete ideas on how #WeCo could use a 680£ grant it received from UnFound (worlds first #platformcoop accelerator) to support #SocialCoop.

#WeCo is a #platformcoop Reddit with:
- Polls
- Better categorization (on Reddit physics and science are separate subreddits, on WeCo physics is a childbranch of science).
Link: https://www.weco.io/b/root/We'll be a legal coop soon, allowing equal co-ownership to all.
We got a 680£ grant to to recruit users and want to fund individuals and groups that share our values and want to grow WeCo. We're open to all ideas.

My simple "echo-chamber silencer" idea for #WeCo , a #platformcoop replacement for Reddit.
In a nutshell:
1. There's a poll on whether you support or oppose nuclear energy.
2. You vote in opposition to it.
3. The top comment shown to you is from a person who voted in support of nuclear energy, but was most upvoted by people who voted in opposition to it.
This could encourage comments that seek to appeal to those who disagree with the comment.

@LeoSammallahti is #WeCo implementing #ActivityPub, like #Anancus and #Prismo? Will it (or could it) be inter-operable with these?
-
My article on an idea for a new comment rating mechanism based on Anatol Rapoports rules of constructive criticism for #WeCo, a #platformcoop replacement for Reddit.
"Each reply to a comment could be upvoted as in Reddit, but in addition, they could be given a rating based on
* How fairly the reply portrays the original commentators stance
* If there was any acknowledgement of learning something
* Whether there was an attempt to seek a common ground."
-
hi @LeoSammallahti
I saw you have listed #WECO in your profil. Is that just to increase visabity for them, or are you one of the devs.?I have noticed that you use #SendGrid for sending out emails, incl. to track for the sign up process.
Since they seem to be some million dollar company I have my reservations when it comes to pricacy. I guess their software is also proprietary?
What's the reason you choosed them, rather then #phplist or #mautic?
