I used SteamVR with ALVR here on Bazzite linux but WiVRn with the latest XR-izer (edit: literally the most recent commit) finally plays the core set of games I like to play right now and it has passthrough capability by default so I can have my WayVR windows floating in real space. PLUS, almost biggest deal, is it runs like a dream. I maxed out my settings, resolution and FPS and MSFS2024 looks and feels GORGEOUS.
(I know all those things might sound made up but they're not lol)
One tip if on Fedora/Arch or similar is to install via the package manager for now because right now the flatpak has an outdated Mesa version included that causes graphical issues.

CW: More Linux VR Shenanigans
Today was suuuper promising with Linux VR  I got Monado working thanks to some Fedi help advising me to downgrade from SteamVR Beta to the standard release and I got a BSManager working so my Beat Saber mods work again.
Envision has been seriously great. I never thought I'd be managing my Steam Index peripherals through a LibAdwaita app :blobfoxthinkgoogly:
That said, I still ran into some mild issues. I tried using the Envision plugins that include WayVR Dashboard so I could launch my games from within the headset, but I couldn't get the dashboard itself to work. :meowpout: Not sure why. I can tell the dashboard window pops up because the controllers behave as if it's there, but it's totally invisible.
Other than that, some of the screenspace reflections are kinda weird, but that's pretty mild. :meowshrug:
Been really fun playing around with it. :pupper_wag: Hopefully I can get the dashboard working and I'll truly have a fully open source SteamVR.
