Managed to finish reviewing and backing up 300 #RAW files that I took back in spring and summer. They are epic, so I'm stoked to share them sometime down the road.

Updating #Glass, #FotoApp, and #Vernissage with new photos is gonna be the next task, likely this evening.

Still reviewing 65 edited photos before starting to edit the next batch, mostly #wildlife, #moon, #sunrise, and #sunset photos.

Nel 2026 ricorre il centenario della nascita di Maurice Lemaître, nato a Parigi il 23 aprile 1926 e scomparso nella stessa città nel 2018. Pittore, cineasta, poeta e scrittore, fu per diversi decenni il braccio destro di Isidore Isou, fondatore del Lettrismo, l’avanguardia nata a Parigi nel 1946 che proponeva di tornare alla materia sonora e visiva della lettera, oltre la parola tradizionale.

Aderendo al movimento nel 1949, Lemaître ne è diventato uno degli autori più prolifici, attraversando pittura, fotografia, cinema e teatro senza mai abbandonare il nucleo teorico lettrista. Tra le opere più significative restano il film “Le film est déjà commencé?” (1951), anticipatore dell’happening, e la “Sculpture inimaginable” (1964), che prefigura l’arte concettuale. Fu anche pioniere del cinema sperimentale, con l’invenzione del Syncinéma.

Genova ha un legame particolare con questa vicenda. Dopo la rassegna lettrista proposta nel 1989 dal Centre Culturel Franco-Italien Galliera, tra la fine del 2002 e l’inizio del 2003 la città ha dedicato a Lemaître una manifestazione in più sedi: un incontro a Palazzo Ducale, la mostra “Maurice Lemaître: peintures lettristes” presso l’Archivio Caterina Gualco, una rassegna al Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Villa Croce dedicata al suo cinema, con la presenza dell’artista, e la mostra fotografica alla Galleria-Libreria Joyce & Co., mentre più di recente la Galleria Martini & Ronchetti ha allestito “Fin de tournage”, con lavori del 2016.

Con questa mostra – che vuole restituire la radicalità della ricerca di Lemaître attraverso dipinti, fotografie, volumi, lettere e riviste – l’attività di Entr’acte, iniziata nel marzo 2015, si conclude.

Seit mehreren Jahren entwickeln die zwei Künstlerinnen eine gemeinsame Praxis, die in feministischer Provokation, ortsspezifischer Performance und interventionistischer Geste verwurzelt ist. Ihre Zusammenarbeit hinterfragt patriarchale Macht, nicht nur in ihrer Wirkungsweise innerhalb politischer Systeme, sondern auch dort, wo sie in den Strukturen des alltäglichen, intimen Lebens sichtbar wird.

Historisch verortet sich das Projekt innerhalb eines Kontinuums der Kontrolle über weibliche Körper, das sich über rechtliche, medizinische, religiöse und kulturelle Regime erstreckt. Abtreibung war, lange bevor sie zur Rechtsfrage wurde, ein Ort expliziter und struktureller Gewalt, durchgesetzt durch Schweigen, Scham und gesellschaftlichen Ausschluss. Obwohl sie wiederholt unter Strafe gestellt wurde, hat sie nie aufgehört zu existieren, sie wurde lediglich gefährlicher und isolierender gemacht.

Das Projekt fügt sich in aktivistische Kunsttraditionen ein, die kulturelle Produktion als Akt der Fürsorge und des Widerstands begreifen. Indem es Geschichten lebendig hält und auf Sichtbarkeit besteht, spiegelt es Bemühungen wider, reproduktive Rechte sowohl symbolisch als auch materiell zu schützen. Letztlich fragt das Werk, was es bedeutet, einen Körper zu bewohnen, den die Geschichte wiederholt verletzt hat, wie Lust, Trauer, Begehren und Widerstand koexistieren können und wie Kunst diese Widersprüche offen halten kann, anstatt sie aufzulösen. Das Publikum wird nicht eingeladen, passiv zu beobachten, sondern Unbehagen gemeinsam mit den Performerinnen zu bewohnen und Zeuge der zyklischen Ausdauer von Körpern, Geschichten und Widerstand zu werden.

I used the first Pixelfed site for quite some time. But, after a bit, there were some things that weren't working properly, at least not for me...
So, when I heard about Vernissage, I gave that a try, and I'm liking it a lot.
But... I do miss the ability to create collections, where one can easily share many posts of a certain topic in one go.
I recently read that a Dutch organization has started a Pixelfed instance. But, they used a dot com account site (for now, as that was one available to them).
I would be really interested in joining a new Pixelfed, especially when it's European 🇪🇺 based. But, I do hope that this project will be able to create a new instance, with an "ending" that doesn't link to US bits (like the dot com). I read that they were looking for the option to actually go for that (soon?), so I'll have to try and find the Toot again about it... As I thought I bookmarked it and now... My chaotic brain can't find it anymore...

Still, a European Pixelfed with some security to run for a few years at least, sounds very good! 😁 But for now, I'll keep using vernissage.photos, as it's good too. I just miss the collections. Ow, and an easy way to read/view people's alt texts when looking at their photos on the Vernissage page.
