I found this tool easier to use. No CSV file to import, though it also depends on Twitter peeps having their Mastodon account in their Twitter bio or pinned tweet.

  2. @acosta Nobody can lock a journalist out of Mastodon, a news organization like CNN can have its own instnace!

  3. I truly hope every single #European in the #TwitterMigraiton makes a #GDPR request to have their data deleted on their way out. One because I think it's a wonderful protection that Europeans have and they should exercise it. And two because it would be hilarious to see Twitter try to comply to prevent the massive fines.

  4. This thread has a list of MDs, Scientists, Epidemiologists, Nurses and other medical professionals that I located here during the #TwitterMigraiton

Feel free to point out any I've missed and I can add!

  5. Rebuilding a social graph is no small feat. A worthy challenge though. Good luck to us all.

I don't know if I have tips... Hmmm.

No algorithm in feed can feel awkward to some, but you can curate your own sorta. For example, you can follow hash tags as well as people. Worth a try in the short term at least.

  6. My thoughts on our activism instance from the #twittermigraiton is that everyone is shouting into the void and nobody is talking to each other. Chill guys and make some links, find some people, talk. This space is people to people #modteam

  7. Though I'm new, coming thru with the #TwitterMigraiton, I've noticed with a few exceptions that in the #fediverse, the entire concept of "following" to "follower" ratio just doesn't exist.

If you do have like 1.5k followers but are only following 29 people here or whatever, no judgement, but why? I feel like the point is to resist becoming a brand, and build actual #community.
