I have absolute confidence in the #mods on this instance to call out ban or delete if for one single minute they thought I was an anti semite unlike KW at aus.social who said among other things that I should not use the word "indigenous" when speaking of Palestinians or the phrase "Nazi like behavior" when referring to the IDF and wiped my account clean within minutes of my request for the #modteam to review his abusive DM. He has family in the IDF by all accounts.

@rooftopaxx we have been running these instances for admin and mod #UX for the #OMN projects rather than the power for social change, as you say the instance community failed a year or more ago.

We now face a funding crunch due to none of the funding applications going through for the tech projects... so it's supporting community or closer #OMN

Two weeks ago, #Mastohost shutdown the activism.openworlds.info instance a day early, effectively stopping us from exporting our data from the site.

After appeals M'host offered to help find a backup if our #modTeam agreed. Instead disagreement and evasion ensued

If we can't find more support we are going to be thinking about shutting down all #OMN instances as the is currently no money to pay the hosting, and outreaching is not working without a LOT of help.

The #DIY coding project is not working anyway, the has been no movement beyond chatter on the tech side of #OMN for the last few years, and the #fedivers stuff was set up to seed this dev.

This is the last time I am saying this the instance cannot be restored, if we get more funding we would like to set up an activism instance based on a different codebase, but the chance we can reuse the existing database is near zero, the content is thus lost.

#modteam The #OMN activism instance has shut down due to payment cancelled from lack of funds. We received no direct donations for this instance for the last year on #opencollective or #bitcoin and funds were far beyond exorsted.

We would like to restart the instance based on a different codebase if donations could cover the ongoing costs of servers and hosting #DIY

Our culture is currently not strong anufe to support alt media hosting or production.
