They're delivering *free* gender affirming care to trans people who can't afford it, including body shapewear, hair removal, hormones, and even surgery. I just saw a request for aid pop up on my FB feed from my friend Nathen. He is ftm trans and apparently is in some kind of trouble where he is living in upstate NY.

He did get someone replying, a friend of his I don't know, saying that they had friends in Rochester and would it be good to get in touch with them? Nathen said yes, it would, so that contact has been made.
Nathen is a fellow actor; we worked together in about 2007, near DC. The two of us headlined that show. Pretty sure that was his first "pants" part - it was just before his transition, IIRC. He's also a musician and worked peripherally with a semi-famous folk combo. He dropped off FB in 2022, saying it improved his mental health a lot, which is cool...I hadn't heard anything about disability so I don't know what that's about.
I just gave a large amount of money to a local charity, so I'm not in the best position right now, but I'll see if I can get some funds in there. Right now, I'm just asking for a signal boost for my friend. I don't really know what's going on. I just hope he's okay.

CW: My final leg of the race - Financial help needed
I'm roughly two weeks our from my court hearing for disability, and I'm hoping for the best thisbtime since I have legal rep. I still need a TON of help before then, as I have car payments and insurance and stuff to pay for.
Not only that, but having recently got sick caused me to need to buy some covid tests and some special things to easy my coughing so it wouldn't be really bad. I have an EBT card now, but it's not enough for an entire month, and it's not helping that due to the labor day weekend hitting the same day as the refill, it pushed the refill an entire week back.
All together for the month, I'm needing $1620 with everything covered. If the court turns around quickly and accepts my disability, they will also have a ton of back pay for me to get, so if this is all done right then, I shouldn't really ever need to ask for assistance ever unless something really fucking dire occurs.
So, that's where I am, the final stretch. I need everyone and anyone's help.

CW: Please Read - Emergency Assistance Needed
So, this is going to be a long one.
I'd first off like to thank everyone for hanging in there and staying with me through all my mental health issues. Things have been hard, Disability is dragging, things keep getting harder and harder and I keep feeling like I should give up. I'm trying to fight that feeling but it's constantly weighing on me.
If you'd like a quick TL; DR, a lot of crap has been happening all of 2023, and it is by far one of the worst years of my life. I've never felt so glad for it to be over but so falsely known that a calendar day changes nothing. My future is uncertain, and I feel hopeless and helpless. I'm going to keep going how I can and keep getting past commissions done as much as I can. I don't intend to leave anyone hanging, do not worry.
As I continue to fight for my disability, I am always in need of assistance. The beginning of the year includes things like car tags, which from what I can see is just under $400. With the car payment, rent, National Debt Relief, and other things, I'm looking at just under $2000 to cover this new month. It's a lot to ask for, and as always, I'm sorry I have to ask for help. I always feel bad but it's all I can do without making promises about commissions and never being able to fulfill them. The last thing I want to do is be one of those artists that DOES take money and run. I'll never be that. I want to keep working how I can and keep going all I can. I've had some amazing help from people, and I cannot thank them enough, I wish by now I could be out of this, but SSA doesn't like to cooperate. I hope this year is the year. I have meetings coming up sometime in the next two months with a judge but with a legal team this time. I hope this is the turning point.
