After all the patience, pacing, and grit it took to get this meal from the oven to my plate, now, it’s time to enjoy my delicious meal.

Hi everyone, its Rain. A lot of you already know me well by now and the struggles I have had to face but for those who don't know, two years ago I was in a nearly life ending accident when I was struck from behind by a pickup truck riding my bicycle to work. Since the accident, the recovery and the physical therapy I have tried to work normal jobs but I have had to quit due to the physical and emotional stress.

Since then I have been trying to find a less stressful, part time job to cover my expenses but it has been difficult to find work due to my mobility issues. Simply put, I cannot stand at all for long periods of time and require sitting in a wheelchair or an office chair to conduct most work. Worse, I applied for disability to get some assistance but I am still waiting and haven't heard back from them in a long time. I really need to find a job or get that disability because I live on a second floor apartment that is really old and not fit for someone with my type of movement disabilities.

I have no means to easily move my wheelchair up and down my stairs by myself and I have a spiral staircase which is my only access to laundry. I had someone helping me with these chores in the past but my transition has made them increasingly hostile towards me and they have recently made it clear they no longer want to help me.

I tried doing my own laundry earlier but just going up and down the stairs once has left me so tired my legs are shaking. I was able to get my wheelchair downstairs by myself the other day after I worked on it but now I don't have a way to get it upstairs easily. Neighbors will help but they all work full time jobs and have families and aren't always there.

I really need to get out of this place and I could, if I can just get things moving along in the right direction for me again.
