i had forgotten about this until i found it while unpacking today. i got it at the anarchist bookfair two years ago
it's kinda saddening to read. a lot of it is based around reminders that the average person is probably transphobic. there is a lot of advice to make it clear you aren't an aggressor, to try not to use your voice in case others haven't realized you're trans, etc

Put your money where your mouth is, yesterday everyone was all #TransDayOfRemembrance . Well, I was suicidal yesterday and gave serious thought to killing myself. I'm still suicidal. Heavily so. But I'm alive. Show me that a living trans woman is actually worth something BEFORE it kills itself.
If you want to connect this material need to my trans identity in some way, the boots that have come apart are white Doc Martens with blue and pink shoelaces, so they're pretty trans boots I guess.
Yes, I'm going a bit expensive with how much I want to collect. The Doc Martens were something I always wanted to have and finally bought only after I came out as a woman. They mattered to me, a lot. I really want a new pair of those.
Yes, I'm fucking shaming you with my very real suicidality and my transness. I've held on to life for the last three days without really being sure why I bother. I deserve a nice thing for a change. Don't I?
But I do need everyday boots to walk in, and I have no money for that. If I get less money, I'll buy something cheaper. If I get no money, I'll continue walking in boots with holes in them in November weather and beyond.
So please help me out.
EDIT: do not tell me where to get boots instead, by the way. If you can't or won't help l, it's ok! Times are tough all around. Giving me a lecture on acquiring boots is NOT ok.

He was a writer and artist of rare talent who shared the same birthday as me, and would be turning 30 this year, if not for his murderer, who is known by those who loved him, but was never charged, despite police reassurances. I'm still grieving.

Remembering my friend, Louisa Jo Killen, who transitioned in her seventies and managed a couple of years before cancer caught her out. I don't know exactly what kept her closeted so long, but I do remember how much she just *blossomed* as she got to be her authentic self in public. She was no shrinking violet before transition – she was one of the all time great folk singers and I learned so much from her – but she just became… more.
I phoned her not long after her transition to congratulate her and she told me something that I'll never forget:
"I'm finding out who my friends are… and so far, it's all of them."
The fucking Guardian still misgendered her in her obituary, though.
