Our train was an hour late into Brussels and so we missed our connection. However we’re now on a Eurostar (ex-Thalys) service to Köln - we’re on the train but have no seats. Joys of rail travel. #train2egu

We are being held up by a technical problem in the Channel Tunnel - probably an hour’s delay. Fortunately I spotted that there is EMERGENCY CHOCOLATE in the cafe car! #train2egu #emergencychocolate

Got a bit of shock this morning because the #train2EGU was simply missing in Enschede, but I managed to catch up using alternatives. Wondering why it's a only a one piece train though, it should be packed with scientists.#EGU23

This year, no night train, I am doing #train2egu by day and starting from #Paris today (did the #Grenoble➡️#Paris part already on Thursday)!
Arrival planned in 12 hours! 🚅 #egu23 -

Finally found the time to make some 🚂 #statistics for #2022!
It's been a busy year, mainly because I live 576 km away from my partner and 630 km away from my hometown. But also: conferences, visiting friends, and summer holidays!
My #2022 #train summary:
📏 26 913 km
⌛ 221 hours 21 min (equivalent to 9 days 5 hours 21 min)
💸 3341,10 €
🇪🇺 8 countries (FR, DE, UK, BE, IT, ES, CH, AU)What a year! Curious to see what #2023 will bring!
