Things I've done for new years: pulled my 10-years-mothballed steel frame and carbon fiber forked #jamis #touringbikes #bike out of storage and dropped it at the bike shop for a complete overhaul. Sad old lady needs everything up to and possibly including her seat replaced but my beloved promised to #rideAcrossMichigan in August and while I'm not promising to do that ride I'll go shares with him on lots of his training rides. I used to bike commute in winter. I actively enjoyed riding cold. I figure if I manage to sort gear and ride a couple of times a month in the next 3 months by the time spring comes it'll be a joy to get in the saddle. (Yes, I'm a masochist, what's your point?)

The previous day's side mission to Mar Lodge and the Linn Of Dee was equally rewarding.
Not just for the views; a Peregrine Falcon, a Golden Eagle and a well earned Haggis Super.
Roll on springtime. Can't wait to get back out there.

Thankfully, Scotland provided us with enough to distract from the mild pains of the climbs. It really is god's country up there in the Cairngorms.
