Day 5: Cattolica - Fano

Most beautiful leg of the trip so far, along the "Strada Panoramica Adriatica". Plenty of road cyclists out on this Sunday.
Fano is a nice small town with some pretty old stuff to look at. The popping public life of Italian towns on weekends is always great to see.

Day 4: Rimini - San Marino - Cattolica
↔️ 64.6 km ↗️ 740m
First quite tough leg. I wanted to check San Marino off the list of microstates to visit. And to be fair, the view was great from up there.
Not much to say about Cattolica. Very touristy beach town like there are many around here. -
European microstate checklist:
✅ Andorra (by bike)
✅ Liechtenstein (by bus and foot)
Malta
Monaco
✅ San Marino (by bike)
✅ Vatican City (by foot)Seeing that Malta is an island, I’ll probably won’t make it there anytime soon (by bike or otherwise) as I don’t fly. Should visit Monaco at some point, though maybe not by bike…

After two days with rain, ideal weather today: Sunny but not too hot.
Crossed the Pineta di Classe nature reserve and followed the beaches south to Rimini. I'm staying in town but also went for a walk to the beach in Rimini and I can see why people like it. Very lively, music, food, the beach and a bit of glamour. Not exactly my cup of tea though.
