Day 10: Pescara - Vasto
↔️ 63.7 km ↗️ 240 m
Today's leg had a bit of everything: Beautiful pristine seaside cycle path on a former railway alignment, a main road with 70 km/h speed limit and an almost completely overgrown back road.
Vasto is a cute town on a hill overlooking the sea. A beautiful little historic centre including a 15th century castle despite a huge landslide in 1956 which destroyed part of the city. -

Day 9: San Benedetto del Tronto - Pescara
↔️ 68.1 km ↗️ 14 m
Not really impressed by Pescara. No old, beautiful buildings to look at. Most of the city around the pedestrian areas seems to have been built in the 50s or 60s.

I see a lot of youths here in Italy riding electric fatbikes that seem to require no actual pedalling to go. They don’t have number plates and the kids are not wearing helmets. Seems to me like they’re at least as powerful as mopeds, probably more so. Is this legal? I haven’t seen those a lot in Switzerland yet. Electric scooters with tiny tyres seem way more common there.

What I really like about the T.E.R. Trains in #France is that you have bike holders that can take fully loaded bikes, and the prices are reasonable. ~100km for me and the bike 6€, 12€ for me and @lyrilith #bikepacking #biketooter #biketouring

Day 8: Civitanova Marche - San Benedetto del Tronto
↔️ 45 km ↗️ 5 m
San Benedetto is cute, small historic centre but nice big pedestrian promenade and parks near the sea. And again, art along the harbour wall, this time sculptures instead of murals and a cat colony living there too!
