Dat 4: Continued along the coast, on a small road up to Bandon and the back to Hwy 101. Got some nice views at state parks along the shore. Got a motel in Port Orford because there was big rain predicted.

I did a final review of our tentative route through the French Alps. One week from now, we'll depart Geneva! https://bkrtr.de/5KerO I think the route may be a bit overambitious, but there are plenty of options for cutting out some of the climbing and distance.
Question for the @bikerouter pros: Is there a function to split up an existing route into shorter segments? I didn't see anything in the documentation.

Less than a week before I head out for a bike tour in the French Alps. Which provided some extra motivation to finish editing another video from our 2024 trip. Day 8 was the shortest day in terms of distance but nonetheless had highlights like the Passo di Pura and the Sauris reservoir and valley. Slowly getting ready for #nerdiontour 2026 edition: My lock holder broke last year and my bottle holder broke recently. So I figured, why not get two bottle holders to replace the one? It required moving the bike pump further to the back, which puts it quite close to the wheel. But clearance is clearance as they say! #biketouring #bikepacking

Anyone interested to come along for a ride? I do plan to go on a #bikepacking trip with @lyrilith from roughly the 6th to 24th of September, starting in the #saarland region then south through France endig either on the Mediterranean Sea or the Atlantic. We dont have a fully planned route yet but we've done this a few times already and know our way around. Maybe some #biketooter has similar plans and is interested to come along for the whole or part of the way. #cycling #biketouring #adventoot

If I've done 100km in a day, or multiple days of biking without fancy padded shorts, do I *really* need $200 biking shorts for a four day ride? Is it really that much worse?

I think I know how to pack for most eventualities, but packing light is not really among my skills 😅 Less than a week away, and my bike + luggage is over 40kg, if not approaching 50...
At least weather should be much more bearable now.
