The Tomb of the Eagles had their re-launch open day last weekend. I went down , just to have a nosey. There were lots of people, all happy with their new enterprise. Not many people went to the actual cairn, its a long long walk. They are hoping to build a more visitor friendly copy of the cairn closer to the visitor centre/museum.

And now for something completely different for #TombTuesday - a robbed out “possible “ tomb on South Ronaldsay in #Orkney

Located halfway between the famous Tomb of the Eagles, and the less well known Tomb of the Otters, lies this ruckle of stones. Identical in shape and dimensions, and in its cliff top location, to those two.

I found it on a walk. The map says “sheep fold” - but it’s not! It’s very probably an as yet unrecorded tomb.
