Monatsrückblick August, Teil 3: Anlässlich eines #TombTuesday wie heute haben wir im August auch einen Friedhof thematisiert – den Nordfriedhof Dortmund in Eving.

Leider ist auch dieses Thema ein "Typisch Ruhrgebiet": Erinnerungen an Unglücke im Bergbau. Und der Dortmunder Nordfriedhof hat viel damit zu tun. Er liegt direkt neben der Zeche Minister Stein, hat Denkmäler für Grubenunglücke und dieses Geleucht am Haupteingang als Erinnerung.

Etwas versteckt, in einem relativ baumreichen Teil, stieß ich auf diesen schmucklosen, von Farnen und Gräsern fast verdeckten Stein.

This is one of the carved stones inside the Fourknocks Neolithic Passage Tomb in Co. Meath, Ireland. We had to go to someone's house (which we could only find thanks to the help from a public works employee who happened to be in the area) to get the key to the tomb and leave a cash deposit (we had no Euro in hand; fortunately our Canadian dollar was acceptable), but it was totally worth the hassle. It was nice having the tomb all to ourselves.

Zum #TombTuesday gibt es doch mal wieder Zuwachs in der Rubrik „Friedhöfe“: Wir haben den ev. Friedhof Langendreer in Bochum besucht.
