Successful abusers are good at networking, have high charisma, usually have pretty privilege and wealth. They have good rhetorical and especially emotive rhetorical skills. And they know how to play their image to the room to gain favor and influence.

These are all traits that go a long way to becoming a popular commentator.

Having consistent politics requires a courage to be disliked and as such I have an inherent distrust of any popular political commentator, more so if they are widely regarded to be "effective" whatever that means in this context

Because misogyny is popular under patriarchy

Speciesism is popular under human supremacy

Racism is popular under colonialism

Ableism is popular under an ableist capitalist system

Queermisia is popular under cisheteromononormativity

Ageism, Sanism and Sex-Negativity are popular too and apologies for anything else I've forgotten

Extra points if the commentator opposes one or more of these systems (genuinely or not) because then there's plausible deniability that they engage in other systems of oppression and the dreaded "perfectionism" argument can come out.
