Seeing something designed "by women for women" where every feature is more like "designed by mothers doing an unequal share of parenting for mothers doing an unequal share of parenting".
I really wish that 'woman' were not so often equated with 'mother'. There are women's issues beyond the sexism in heterosexual pairings...

Stuart Neilson (LinkedIn) points out the social hypocrisy that confronts people in their 50s & 60s:
Their state pension age is receding into the late 60s, while employers seem to regard them, too often, as too old to work.
Either we reverse the moves in pension age (lowering back towards the early 60s) or we move much more significantly to combat ageism in the labour market.
But we cannot in good faith as a society combine a high pension age & ageism!

It is one thing to lower the voting age — on the condition that our education system has truly prepared young adults to make informed decisions using taught critical thinking skills (looking around at this cohort, I fear the lessons have not been absorbed as well as they should have). It is another to blunder into classic cases of #Ageism. Guilty Mr Keane!Not only does it besmirch the idea of #democracy (just as, in other ways, positive discrimination and gender quotas do), but the idea of skewing votes by differentiating the value of a vote in accordance with some harebrained scheme such as using *years lived on the planet* as a predicate is a thin splintering wedge into our democratic institutions and systems. I’m not having any of it. And whiule I enjoy reading Mr Keane on Crickey News, this article is the germ of a shallow thinking IMO.

Addendum to my post about ageism
For those who don't know me, I moved my husband to a retirement home bc since a massive stroke, his physical/medical needs became too much for me as his sole caregiver. . We don't want to live apart so I moved with him.
I have PofA, and take care of all his meds, and appointments, his daily routine, our finances, ...so it's very insulting when people make assumptions.
Besides. many residents in retirement homes are there only due to limited mobility.
