Ayeka stepped forward and gently took her rival’s hands in her own. Somberly, the violet-tressed princess said, “Ryoko, I apologize for the wrongs that have been done in the name of my family to you and your sister, and your mother.”

Azaka’s eyes fell upon those seated around him, and he felt a distinct wave of nostalgia, having stood among similar people before, their ancestors, in Jurai’s antiquity.

A chill walked down Ayeka’s spine as she realized, “Then, the attack on Earth is connected to this attack on Ryoko and Nagi, to what the enemy have planned for Jurai?”

As I was writing yesterday, I was trying to remember some specifics I had established between Ayeka and Ramia, so that the latter aligns with #tenchiuniverse: when they met, the circumstances, etc. Sadly, those specific scenes were indeed casualties of the file server failure. 😔

Realization struck Ayeka as she rose from her seat to face the azure soldier. “Of course! The language on their ship! None of us recognized its designation symbols or its configuration.”

“Princess,” he spoke quite carefully, “could you repeat that name, the one spoken by the Ryoan warrior.”
“Liaens,” she reiterated. “Presumably, he is the fourth member of their crew.”
“No one in this generation likely has seen that ship,” Azaka replied, meeting her gaze, “until now.” Gravely, he described the vessel, “An immense sword cutting through the fabric of the expanse, a blue so dark that it glimmers with the stars around it.”

Closing his lavender eyes, the knight pursed his lips and nodded.
Sagami turned to the gallant veteran and asked, “Does that name of some significance?”
Ramia shook her head. “If so, it’s from a tongue I’ve never heard.”
A chill raced down Ayeka’s spine while he illustrated the same ship she had boarded mere hours ago. She nodded slowly, whispering softly and reverently, “We were there, Azaka.”

As I have been writing #tenchimuyo #fanfiction, something I embraced very early was what modern parlance has termed the "multiversal variant". Early on in my journey, I encountered both the OVA and #tenchiuniverse, and had to parse the distinctions between the two. 🤔

And, here is its sequel, *Tenchi Muyo!: Reunion*, which picks up roughly about eight months later on Jurai! ⚡🌲 Originally written in 1998, I'm currently revising it one last time!

While I'm getting back to writing, I thought it might be a good to link to where to start reading. 🙂 Here is *Tenchi Muyo! vs. Men in Black*, the first story I wrote back in 1997, but revised (multiple times, heavily 💦 ). #天地無用 #tenchimuyo #tenchiuniverse #fanfiction #tenchiff #meninblack #mib

With a proud smile, the monarch nodded. “Misaki is about three months on now. She’ll be showing soon. A girl, from every scan.” He tasted his cognac again.

Azaka’s eyes widened as a chill raced down his spine. Since he had lived during Jurai’s antiquity, he knew of the old ways, of the gods whose names had been lost to time.

OMG--
Look, after having borne witness to the state of the Tenchi Muyo franchise post Movie 3 era and from OVA 3 onward, I've literally thrown away all ties to it for various reasons... IYKYK. 👦🏻💍🐇
But if THIS were to be a really successful thing, trust and believe I will NEVER shut up about it, I LOVED Tenchi Universe as a kid, and STILL DO--

For this #fathersday, I want to highlight this chapter of Reunion. Sometimes, a father can only do his best in his circumstances. Here's to the fathers who struggle for their children, win or lose, even when the universe is against them.

This is a story that I wrote 11 years ago, a brief glimpse into the future I wanted to write, a possible future for Tenchi and his friends. Where would they be after the troubles I placed in their way? How would the Triangle be resolved?

Hey, Tenchi fans! Some of my good friends have created their own company in order to do exciting things--starting with licensing the American adaptation of Tenchi that Pioneer commissioned way back in the 90s!
Usually called "Pioneer comics," these were done for the series Moldiver, Phantom Quest Corp, El-Hazard and Tenchi. In this case, they're re-releasing the Pioneer comics for Tenchi in a snazzy omnibus collection! And it ships EVERYWHERE! (Except Japan. Because of course.)
For now, you can follow the page so you can be notified when the campaign launches on March 1st!
https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/armigerentertainment/tenchi-muyo-original-omnibus-edition
If you want to see a neat trailer voiced by the eternal Ryoko in English, Petrea Burchard, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LOFbUeX7_HY
If you want to know more about the company and why they've arrived at this road, straight from the horse's mouth, go here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qq-NLvlehis It includes VERY interesting notions for the future of Tenchi! 👀 (Outside of Japan, at least.)
Once again, here's the Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/armigerentertainment/tenchi-muyo-original-omnibus-edition Tell your fellow Tenchi friends!
