Tarentel - From Bone to Satellite (1999)
Assolutamente spaziale, in tutti i sensi. Grazie a Costantino de Blasi per il consiglio

Right now, listening to #Tarentel – Ursa minor, ursa major

From Bone to Satellite by Tarentel is by far one of my favorite post-rock albums of all time. This album is probably a little less experimental than subsequent releases, but still delivers interesting, instrumental, guitar work that you'd expect. Bonus points: a song dedicated to Carl Sagan.

#CDFriday with #TheAlps, a band that (for me) came after #Tarentel even if there were some overlap years. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_m7WPGzpDr6JkTqsJkFoJasjpRlh2Jwofg

#NowPlaying #TheAlps Picking up where #Tarentel left off, Jefre Cantu-Ledesma, Alexis Georgopoulos (Arp), and Scott Hewicker shine on what became their final LP. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_kjKBluaADQeItgP3mruCleT7CBeYIlKq8

Reading scientific literature at home, playing #instrumental music on my stereo. Right now #Tarentel, most likely my favourite band: https://tarentel.bandcamp.com/album/we-move-through-weather

Sounds pretty good on my KEF Chorale speakers, too. ❤️

One of my most favorite bands #tarentel is not around anymore, but I still look back and spin their records in fond memories.

I don't think there is a better quote than this to describe what they are doing:
"The production is a caustic mix of hi- and lo-fi, creating a strange sense of timelessness, like discovering a black and white photograph of the future."
