Back in 1994, I was a TA at #TAMU. I made $6,877, and at 50% FTE, I qualified for health insurance. Not sure if that is true today. I could opt into a Scott & White HMO for little to no money in premium.

My son has a 5 part lab with most of the parts going from a-n (13 pages!). But sure, "Grade inflation" is a real problem. My son, who got two A's on his recent exams, was breaking down over trying to finish this crazy ass lab in time. #SuicidePreventionMonth #TAMU #JustSayNo

@oliversampson @pluralistic A couple of my son's college courses do this. It is super frustrating for him when he gets 3/5 on a quiz with no feedback on what he got wrong before an exam. The most egregious is when homework is due _after_ an exam, so you dont even know how well you did before taking a test. #TAMU

It is concerning that the premier scientific institution for guiding Texas agricultural systems through these difficult climate transitions- Texas A&M- appears to be trapped in a state political apparatus increasingly geared to serve the powerlust of the Texas elite that caused the climate crisis, instead of the very real food needs of the people of Texas.
