    Edit: Yeah, I guess it won't work where we are. Too humid, and to use the dehumidifier at the same time would just undo what the swamp cooler is doing. Looking into a portable a/c unit instead.

  26. A few years ago I threw this swamp cooler together but by the time I had it done it wasn’t hot enough to need it. As the mercury climbed today I took it down and … it works! Great for spot cooling while puttering in the garage. Pump and fan together pull about 9 watts. #SwampCooler.

  31. @dalias @Lyle I don’t think that this is true in much of the West or anywhere that a #SwampCooler will work. To some degree, I think that the uniformity of both wasteful thermostat settings and archaic dress codes is driven by executive practices set by men stationed in New York and DC.
