Das ist ein Horror, als würden wir hier in 119 Minuten dem ökologischen Gleichgewicht beim Umkippen zusehen können. Doch für mich ist diese Geschichte viel weniger eine Parabel als eine echte Zumutung. Und weil es vermutlich immer noch Menschen gibt, die diesen Film noch nicht gesehen haben, schreibe ich mir das hier nochmal von der Seele. (ARTE, Wh.)

I first saw this film as a kid and it scared the shit out of me. I have scenes from it burned indelibly in my brain.

It is genuinely creepy and the score supports that perfectly. And the special FX are FREAKY!
