Looking for a #cordless #strimmer... why do none of the manufacturers give you stuff like wattage or some other indication of motor power? (This will be used for cutting our meadow since our rotary mower can't really manage that, as well as edging and tidying up)

Second strimmer fixed, the one with the metal disc for thicker brush (and not leaving bits of plastic string everywhere).

Honda GX35 4-stroke. Shook out most of the pieces of the shattered cam pulley, then flushed out some smaller ones with old petrol.

Had to take the head and clutch cover off to find the timing mark on the flywheel. I don't remember doing that last time, I guess I just poked a screwdriver down the spark plug hole to find TDC, which works too.

The replacement pulley has not got that stupid automatic decompression lever that may have been the cause of the thing flying apart due to its weight.

Runs and starts very well again and got two more oil flushes to get clean (it uses a tiny amount).

Hmm, only changed this cam pulley last year. Guess the plastic wasn't the right sort. But then, neither was the original Honda one.

Now both strimmers are broken and waiting for small parts (the other just needs a fuel line, also due to material failure).

The council's grass-verge-trimming contractor is outside and the #strimmer is so much less unpleasantly loud than previously — it seems to be #electric!

Top tip for anyone who may be as stupid as me: don't use your #strimmer near your #PatioWindow. #ShatteringExperiences #IdiotWithAStrimmer

If mowing/strimming long grass, please check for wildlife first. Especially hedgehogs who curl up rather than run away.

I've said this before but strimmer manufacturers please hurry up with laser strimmers (it coukd work, right?). I hate the waste of plastic cord.

Any recommendations for a decent strimmer. I had an old Bosch model that's lasted me 15 years but their new ones are AWFUL. Gone through 3 in the past year.
