"A group of environmental activists occupied the #Sterrebos near Born, #Limburg, early this morning (28-01-2022). They climbed the trees with ropes and installed themselves in hammocks. The action is organized to protect the forest from the planned felling by car manufacturer #VDL #Nedcar. VDL Nedcar wants to build a new production line on the site of the centuries-old forest. The #forest protectors want the plan to be modified so that the forest is preserved. The goal of the occupation is to stop VDL Nedcar from cutting down the 200 year old forest.
The group “Red het Sterrebos” (Save the Sterrebos) supports the activists and has started a fundraising action for them. We also use this website and our social media for updates and information. If you want to stay up to date, follow us on twitter, facebook or instagram.
