2,400 kilometers in this year. It’s going quite well, but there‘s one thing I‘d really like to do on a regular basis: Leave my jacket behind… Alas, with temperatures at 4-5 degrees C in the morning, I‘m clutching to my jacket for now. Today‘s run was a rather quick one, but I didn’t push myself, I just let go and ran on. That was quite ok. Heart rate was up *a lot*, but I didn’t feel stressed out in any way. Country living: that feeling you get when you take the lid off the sugar bowl, because the coleslaw needs just a tiny pinch of sugar, and a bunch of ants scramble out. 🙄 (Yes, it's one of those sugar bowl lids with a slot at the side for the handle of the sugar shell.)

My feet must have been enclosed in lead or cement blocks, at least #Running felt like that. Weather was ok, some clouds, low temperatures (~3 degrees C). Snow‘s gone, chill remained in place. But a perfect day for a run. I even started into a new audiobook series (Bruno, chef de police), very entertaining.

Alternate route today, steady climb 🥵, but nice views. Roughly 1-2 degrees Celsius, hardly anyone around, great for me. Started a new audiobook (Commissaire Dupin 1), very entertaining.

Got my seeds planted today! Romano and Seychelles beans on the trellis boxes and 12 different pepper and tomato varieties in the seed hot box! Way more than I need, but the neighbors seem to appreciate the extra pepper and tomato starts.

The balsamroot in my side (north) yard just after dawn. Balsamroot are perennials so they come back every year. This particular patch has been spreading. I think they're blooming early this year. I seem to recall them being in bloom on Mother's Day. I'll check the other two patches in my yard over the weekend.
