While Smeagol is a bit of a meany for walking off with some of my bowls, I did discover that she at least nicely places them in a single location. I found all of the 3 recently taken ones in the west bushes, two of them on top of each other.

Got her distracted enough towards the north that I could turn around to play with Soda again... and there was the Dr. Professor at my door. Got some more playtime in before Smeagol had to be wrangled again. By the time Euler had finished eating, I was very surprised that Inspector Clouseau hadn't shown up. I suspect he did, but noped out when he saw everything.

Then, Smeagol appeared, and I moved out into the yard to distract her, while attempting to play with Soda. I had distracted her long enough while Soda was checking out my bedroom window that I was able to focus on the porch again, and X22 was there, staring at Dorian. I decided to put out more food as Dorian decided to grab a drink. By the time I had put it out, Smeagol needed to be wrangled again.

Crazy active night that I should be able to post pictures of later! I think Soda has spent nearly the entire night in my yard. When I think I have worn him out, he just comes back looking for more! I think he was also following around Smeagol for part of that time. Climbing the screen door and rustling around in the noisy bushes were very fascinating for him. Me as well, as I didn't realize they were so loud.

As I expected, Jasper-Pop appeared again at around 0520. I suspect they had been here for more than a few minutes, as I saw them huddling on the west side of the house together. I really only caught them that quickly because Smeagol was climbing. The second I stepped outside, X22 appeared, and while wrangling Smeagol, the light shone on Jasper-Pop. I was able to gets cats to the shelf, and raccoons to the north.

CW: Somewhat gross, what nothing to worry about
Was a tad worried when I walked outside for cat concierge service as there were two tiny partial footprints next to the doormat that were definitely not water. I worried it was Smeagol, as that is where she has climb-jumping down onto these days(from not very far up). When no one seemed injured, I remembered that the bad camera points there. Turns out, Smeagol had just stepped on a very squishy worm...

A 20 minute and a 30! minute playtime with Soda Pop today! The night isn't even over, so I expect to see him at least once more. First round Jasper was starting to get in on the fun, though he wasn't entirely sure yet if everyone was playing, as Sodium tried to jump on him. Based on the noises that were just barely audible from Soda, he was definitely playing. Smeagol got in on the fun the second round as well, but thankfully didn't play with Soda.

This was in the middle of the Smeagol distraction dance to keep her away from a Jasper who was on the west patio. It also provided entertainment for a Dorian who was loafing about at the top of the hill above us. Didn't notice him until I shined the light up there, and the shadows started to move. I was able to temporarily move Smeagol to the back, but it required a magpie to remind her it was bedtime.

Today, Spooky Kitties Raccoons is featuring a guest raccoon! I am mostly certain this raccoon is not one of my expanded regulars(the expanded being the triplets and their mother). Fell for my original tricks to steer raccoons away from the west patio, so it definitely isn't a ragged Smeagol family member. Wouldn't be surprised if this was one of the ones I heard while out with Soda Pop.

There was a raccoon I didn't recognize in the yard today, and was not surprised to hear mating noises while I was standing outside with Soda Pop.

Even Smeagol got in on then fun, getting in some extra credit before graduating. She also jumped from the tree right in the shadows, moving about like a Jasper. It wasn't until she stepped into the light that I realized she was attempting to sneak grab the remaining food from the patio...

Well, the raccoons have pulled off a long term shenanigan. They have been trying for months to get the bowls out of the yard, but don't have large enough hands to climb with them. They have been secretly digging a tunnel underneath the north fence, and it is finally large enough that they can walk right through it.

Happy to announce that Smeagol the Raccoon had a flawless performance in her Banditry Sciences finals and thesis. She successfully silently Spider-Raccooned her way up the screen door and successfully stayed up there without me noticing when I stepped out to check the west patio for Experience Gang shadows. It wasn't until I was inside sitting down that she finally climbed down, alerting me.

And, Soda Pop finally makes an appearance. Not surprise it is so late, as the rain tends to do that. The Jasper-Pop Experience Gang rushed off as soon as it started raining around 1930. Add in an overly excited Smeagol, plus the sprinklers , and you have very late meals. Luckily, I was able to get everyone fed before Smeagol's mother/sister(not sure which one) stopped by.

Smeagol appears to be having a terrible, but fun, day today. It is raining, local water is back up so the sprinklers are running(and my homes system isn't very robust, so I am not entirely certain if they are working on any schedule yet), so Smeagol is a bit of a soggy mess at the moment. However, it has created numerous puddles, and raccoon's love puddles.

I don't appreciate my primary camera going down the same day that Smeagol attempted to take my flashlight. Got all the way to the hazelnut bush before dropping it as I was chasing her. Can't really blame her, as I knew she was interested in it. Plus, I had left it on the feeding station to give just a little more light to the west patio so I could observe one of the black cats inside.

Banditry sciences graduate student, Smeagol the Raccoon, has just passed her Spider-Raccoon class with flying colors after incorporating actual spider webs into her performance! Graduation is coming up, and she will be my newest Dr. Professor!

I definitely need to get on top of cleaning my window as soon as possible. I was curious to see what Smeagol would do if I opened the curtains while she was under the window. She looked up, saw it was me, climbed up onto the sill, and started pressing paw/should not touch boopable nose against the window where I pointed.

I have realized in the last few days that I may not have been seeing the triplets recently. Instead, whenever I see 3 raccoons, it is actually Smeagol's, her twin, and a raccoon who is probably their mother. While all the raccoon's babies from last summer should be grown up by now, female raccoons typically live close to their birthplace.

Saw the short haired one again a couple minutes ago, heading into the west bushes. I am fairly certain I also saw them in the bushes behind Soda Pop when I was out with Dorian, but can't confirm. Mostly certain, as only the eyes shone through, and I can usually see teh multitude of gray creatures that hide in there

Smeagol did complicate things, but that is primarily due to not knowing Smeagol or one of the momma raccoons was in the bushes. If I know where Smeagol is, I can now reliably get her over to the east side of the yard. She will then be more interested in trying to banditry everything I have, instead of what the kitties have. Momma raccoon is a little bit trickier, but she will at least run away in the right direction.

Lot's of human-kitty progress was made today. It has been a Jasper-Pop + other kitty kinda night. While Euler is simple matter, and X22 only requires about 1 meter of separation, Dorian and The Inspector are a tad trickier. Dorian is about 2 meters, but requires me to move very little. The Inspector is very tricky, as he still prefers me to be inside when he eats.

The Black Cat of the Night is getting sneakier. Went to quickly bring in the bowls after a Dr. Professor left, as a non-Smeagol raccoon was wandering about. Penguin at that exact moment informed me she had the zoomies on the other side of the room. As I didn't go directly to her, she apparently decided to chase after me. She was able to slip out when I opened the door coming in.

Banditry Sciences graduate student Smeagol the Raccoon has been progressing rapidly in anticipation of her thesis presentation and upcoming graduation in May! She is now able to get onto the screen door without alerting me some of the time, giving her ample time to stare at me through the window.

My attempt to get one of my doctors to put one of the kitties or Smeagol's name into my medical record was not successful this time. It is admittedly more than a bit unlikely that I will ever manage it, but I am going to keep trying.
While the name's might not be medical relevant, my interactions with all of them is technically medically relevant with my conditions. Activity level is important, and chasing raccoons is an activity

Went out after waking up last night for my daily bring things in/see if the band Jasper-Pop needs any food, when I spotted this little toy. Apparently, my dad found it while mowing. He found it a couple days ago, but didn't grab it for some reason. When my dad went out again yesterday, finding it in a different place. I assume it belongs to one of the raccoons, so I have left it for them to find. Sadly, no one has claimed it.
