Murphy is a bit more relaxed now that my Mom can get into her wheelchair by herself, which means he can convince her to let him out at night again... Of course, a more active night wheelchair is quite scary, so the time he has spent demanding pets on the stairs has only slightly decreased.

I got to see a very exhausted Sodium Pop Lightning! for the first time today! Usually, we play for 5-8 minutes after he is finished eating, and then he leaves. Today, I started playing with him shortly before 05:00, ending a little after 05:13. About 15 minutes later, the Dr. Professor stopped by, and Soda Pop was ready to play again. Got in a whole extra 20 minutes, once getting him close enough that he booped my shoe!

It is officially the start of "Hot Murphy Summer." Hot Murphy Summer is the time of year when the temperature is warm enough outside for Murphy to nap in bushes while it is too hot in the greenhouse. Caused a bit of shocked Mr. The Inspector face today when Murphy suddenly leaped out from his hiding spot right after I had put out some last minute wet food the Inspector Clouseau. I don't believe Murphy noticed him, though.

Murphy has been highly disappointed that my mom broke her ankle this week, and is likely chair bound for at least the next few weeks. He eats mostly from me everyday, but he has still eats some from my mom in the afternoon and the middle of the night. Afternoon is easier, as my mom is actually awake to have someone grab food. Night, Murphy just wakes my mom up, who has to call me to come upstairs to satisfy his needs.

The Black Cat of the Night is getting sneakier. Went to quickly bring in the bowls after a Dr. Professor left, as a non-Smeagol raccoon was wandering about. Penguin at that exact moment informed me she had the zoomies on the other side of the room. As I didn't go directly to her, she apparently decided to chase after me. She was able to slip out when I opened the door coming in.

It has been a great Smeagol activity night tonight. She decided to get onto the window at the exact same time Penguin wanted to eat. Penguin was quite confused. She has seen the raccoons before, but never one staring at her, nose pressed up against the glass.

Power Loaf is broadly defined as a Loaf in a non-standard location for the cat, with the loaf usually staring at something. A cat is never asleep while they are a Power Loaf, which is instead classified as a Sleepy Loaf.

Very happy to learn that shrimp can be purchased individually. I get Penguin some shrimp for her birthday meal each year. I do not like shrimp except under circumstances I am unfamiliar with. Most of the years I have gotten her some were years I lived with my nephews, one of whom actually likes shrimp. As I don't expect to ever see them again, especially on Intergalactic Penguin the Cat Day, it is kinda a waste of shrimp. But, apparently they do come in singles

While my hair is not the same color, it is dark enough, combined with Penguin's red tint, means that whenever my now longer hair's(think Aragorn) bangs/sideburns slightly block my vision, it makes my think that Penguin is approaching from my right side.

My parents are visiting my 87 year old grandmother this week, and my mom sent me a picture of her new cat named Ziggy. Likely Maine coon, though Ziggy is a foundling, so not 100% certain.

It has been a "take care of sick Murphin" couple days here, which means it is also a "Murphy lost his voice" couple of days. He has been doing better each day, but when I went upstairs for my evening visit, he still hadn't gotten his voice back. Queue 2230, the raccoons are out so I can finally shower for the day, so I rush upstairs where Murphy gave a single normal sounding meow

Just spoke with two of my nephews for the first time in nearly 2 years. I have gotten the occasionally message from the middle nephew, and a single chat session with the youngest, but I haven't really spoken with them since I was in Virginia until today. Got to tell part of the Spooky Kitties feral history and learned that the youngest still things about the "Mega" Base I built with them years ago in Minecraft.

Euler-Murphy relations improved a lot today. Murphy isn't exactly a fan of the ferals joining the family, but he isn't actively hostile. He just normally backs away when they are down here. Today, though, I was able to briefly pet both him and Euler at the same time, and convinced Murphy to continue walking past Euler inside. Euler was very chill about the whole thing, with some leg boops on me and calmly eating while Muprhy passed by.

Close observations mode has restarted for the long haired tuxie. While regular close observation mode has never stopped, I had lowered the chance of the big fluffer was another stray. I still believe the tuxie simply lives close by, but reevaluating just in case.

Further progressing with #Euler the catnip addict today. Got a full long pet around her tail, including the tail!
It did add to the body of evidence that she has not been inside for a while. That collar and her behavior all but confirms that she had humans at one point, but her fur has a roughness that only comes from being out 24/7. I definitely made the right decision in naming her as a member of my #SpookyKitties family. #SpookyKittiesFerals

Today's #FlashbackMurphyThursdayOnSunday features one of the drawings from the time I convinced my group mate to let me tell Penguin's adoption story for a one of our assignments. The setting was changed to fit the assignment(I met Penguin at one of the counties satellite adoption shelters, not in the dark of night. The finger nibbling as an introduction was the same). Going to school is my early-mid 30's was much more fun than when I first went. #SpookyKitties

Pinning this to my profile, and it will hopefully be the first and only time I promote this. I don't worry that I will not have food for them next week, but as someone who is permanently disabled on a fixed income, I practice an abundance of caution on anything that costs money. I want to make sure that no matter what happens, all the #SpookyKitties have full bellies every day.

What in the gray cat of the month club? It appears I am collecting gray cats this month, though this one didn't seem to be looking for a meal.
