Today, I decided to see if Soda Pop would be willing to jump up onto the window with prompting from a laser pointer. He has jumped up there, but only on his time(like, when he jumped in my kitchen window to get my attention). I have been trying for a couple days, but today was the day, and it unlocked something in him. After two laser pointer jumps, he has decided it is now one of his waiting spots after he alerts me to his presence.

Crazy active night that I should be able to post pictures of later! I think Soda has spent nearly the entire night in my yard. When I think I have worn him out, he just comes back looking for more! I think he was also following around Smeagol for part of that time. Climbing the screen door and rustling around in the noisy bushes were very fascinating for him. Me as well, as I didn't realize they were so loud.

As I expected, Jasper-Pop appeared again at around 0520. I suspect they had been here for more than a few minutes, as I saw them huddling on the west side of the house together. I really only caught them that quickly because Smeagol was climbing. The second I stepped outside, X22 appeared, and while wrangling Smeagol, the light shone on Jasper-Pop. I was able to gets cats to the shelf, and raccoons to the north.

A 20 minute and a 30! minute playtime with Soda Pop today! The night isn't even over, so I expect to see him at least once more. First round Jasper was starting to get in on the fun, though he wasn't entirely sure yet if everyone was playing, as Sodium tried to jump on him. Based on the noises that were just barely audible from Soda, he was definitely playing. Smeagol got in on the fun the second round as well, but thankfully didn't play with Soda.

I got to see a very exhausted Sodium Pop Lightning! for the first time today! Usually, we play for 5-8 minutes after he is finished eating, and then he leaves. Today, I started playing with him shortly before 05:00, ending a little after 05:13. About 15 minutes later, the Dr. Professor stopped by, and Soda Pop was ready to play again. Got in a whole extra 20 minutes, once getting him close enough that he booped my shoe!

Preview because I have a second: Soda was really, really, active today. Lots of laser pointer play. As I tried to lure him towards me, he discovered one of the sticks I attempted to get Smeagol to hold like a staff. That didn't work, but Soda has claimed it as his own .

It is officially the start of "Hot Murphy Summer." Hot Murphy Summer is the time of year when the temperature is warm enough outside for Murphy to nap in bushes while it is too hot in the greenhouse. Caused a bit of shocked Mr. The Inspector face today when Murphy suddenly leaped out from his hiding spot right after I had put out some last minute wet food the Inspector Clouseau. I don't believe Murphy noticed him, though.

This was in the middle of the Smeagol distraction dance to keep her away from a Jasper who was on the west patio. It also provided entertainment for a Dorian who was loafing about at the top of the hill above us. Didn't notice him until I shined the light up there, and the shadows started to move. I was able to temporarily move Smeagol to the back, but it required a magpie to remind her it was bedtime.

There was a raccoon I didn't recognize in the yard today, and was not surprised to hear mating noises while I was standing outside with Soda Pop.

Even Smeagol got in on then fun, getting in some extra credit before graduating. She also jumped from the tree right in the shadows, moving about like a Jasper. It wasn't until she stepped into the light that I realized she was attempting to sneak grab the remaining food from the patio...

And, Soda Pop finally makes an appearance. Not surprise it is so late, as the rain tends to do that. The Jasper-Pop Experience Gang rushed off as soon as it started raining around 1930. Add in an overly excited Smeagol, plus the sprinklers , and you have very late meals. Luckily, I was able to get everyone fed before Smeagol's mother/sister(not sure which one) stopped by.

I don't appreciate my primary camera going down the same day that Smeagol attempted to take my flashlight. Got all the way to the hazelnut bush before dropping it as I was chasing her. Can't really blame her, as I knew she was interested in it. Plus, I had left it on the feeding station to give just a little more light to the west patio so I could observe one of the black cats inside.

Saw the short haired one again a couple minutes ago, heading into the west bushes. I am fairly certain I also saw them in the bushes behind Soda Pop when I was out with Dorian, but can't confirm. Mostly certain, as only the eyes shone through, and I can usually see teh multitude of gray creatures that hide in there

Lot's of human-kitty progress was made today. It has been a Jasper-Pop + other kitty kinda night. While Euler is simple matter, and X22 only requires about 1 meter of separation, Dorian and The Inspector are a tad trickier. Dorian is about 2 meters, but requires me to move very little. The Inspector is very tricky, as he still prefers me to be inside when he eats.

My attempt to get one of my doctors to put one of the kitties or Smeagol's name into my medical record was not successful this time. It is admittedly more than a bit unlikely that I will ever manage it, but I am going to keep trying.
While the name's might not be medical relevant, my interactions with all of them is technically medically relevant with my conditions. Activity level is important, and chasing raccoons is an activity

Unicode X22 really really likes Trash Panda Reefer Madness Phase 2: The Quest for Peace's Chair 3. It seems it is just the right level of dampness to give the cat herb's the soggy scent that the kitties like, but not too wet that it would give him the soggy kitty face that he probably doesn't like.

I do hope X22 wasn't overly confuzzled by things today. Got rid of some of unused boxes down here last night, which gave me room to start setting up Trash Panda Reefer Madness 2: The Quest for Peace. I am undecided on whether or not the feeding station will be moved off camera to the west more, but it might take a while. X22 will allow me to stand 80cm's away from him(I measured), which doesn't give me much wiggle room to move right now.

Curse those jerks for driving up the price of hard drives and forcing me to choose which of the 25TB's of video from my surveillance camera to keep. Admittedly, some of it was a very easy YES!!, especially the orange belly that is Dorian's belly. Or, take the raccoon who likes to hang from the edge of the shelf for some reason instead of climbing down to eat the peanut it was able to snag. Still, some of us are disabled and not made of money..

2026-03-07 Where I attempt to summon a Napasaurus Rex: while I continue to lakc the proper amount of time to go over tests results, I have at least tried to put out a new test most days for the past week. Today, I will be testing whether I can entice one of the kitties to get onto the red camp chair that I use when I want to sit on the side patio. I put it up because the birds also liked it, and pooping everywhere is kinda part of bird culture.

Euler-Murphy relations improved a lot today. Murphy isn't exactly a fan of the ferals joining the family, but he isn't actively hostile. He just normally backs away when they are down here. Today, though, I was able to briefly pet both him and Euler at the same time, and convinced Murphy to continue walking past Euler inside. Euler was very chill about the whole thing, with some leg boops on me and calmly eating while Muprhy passed by.

Learned from my dad today that apparently #Euler the catnip addict has been meowing up a storm. He was outside in the afternoon when she went down the hill, meowing her little heart out. #SpookyKittiesFerals

Further progressing with #Euler the catnip addict today. Got a full long pet around her tail, including the tail!
It did add to the body of evidence that she has not been inside for a while. That collar and her behavior all but confirms that she had humans at one point, but her fur has a roughness that only comes from being out 24/7. I definitely made the right decision in naming her as a member of my #SpookyKitties family. #SpookyKittiesFerals

Human-very handsome feral cat boy relations took a huge step forward today! Dorian was a half hour early today, about 15 minutes early for my normal prep time, so I had to rush to get something out to him. He has progressively gotten closer to me over the last few months, but he is never within reach by the time I get to the shelf. Until today. Looks like at least Dorian found adequate shelter from the rain. Hopefully he had enough shelter last night to not be a completely Cold Murphin'. Rain seems to have stopped, which will hopefully bring an on time Jasper in 20ish minutes. Not as worried about The Inspector getting food, as he was very willing to brave the rain yesterday.
