Many pets(10) were provided to Inspector Clouseau, who enjoyed them immensely, though informed me quite loudly that it was breakfast time, and what was I doing petting when I could be putting plates of food down. I do enjoy melting the hearts of the gray creatures(and Siamese creatures, and creatures).

Carl(Gauss) was also there, though I didn't notice until after I had head scritched Soda inside. He was sitting underneath the hazelnut bush(as he does), only noticed because the darkness was rounder under there.

I got a two second leg cuddle from Inspector Clouseau today! During the day, even! Might have gone on longer, but Soda Pop darted down the stairs slowly(stairs were still wet) from the main porch the second he heard me come out, and was not happy to see The Inspector. In another first, I was able to successfully divert both of them to myself; The Inspector to the shelf, and Soda Pop inside.

I can finally sometimes intimidate the Hobbits. Before, I could only get them to move through Smeagol. Now, I can back them out of the yard if needed.
Of course, this is likely a battle I will slowly lose with at least one of them, especially after independence from Smeagol. But, it is perfect to have right now as Carl(Gauss) integration is being worked on.

He actually sorta walked with us. Not very far as he got distracted by Jasper suddenly running after me, which meant X22 had to start chasing Jasper.

Unicode X22 progress was made last night. I was on a walk with Jasper(Soda was off doing his own thing), and we stopped at the curb to find a good place for a deep belly massage. As I looked both ways before entering any part of the street, I spotted X22 in the middle of the road where the circle starts(I live at the bottom of a circle). To my delighted surprise, he actually walked over to us, stopping within 2 meters!

Very happy today! I got approved for the Medicare bridge program. Really didn't like the idea of paying full cost every month, especially since it takes a significant amount of my budget that I had been able to mostly offset by reduced food costs each month when they still offered a coupon. Worth it still, but I have many other things I could do with the extra money each month, especially with so many kitties to feed now.

I wonder if the cat boys would enjoy virtual Cat TV, or do the birds already stimulate them more than they want? Only think I could get Jasper and Soda to sit down long enough to watch, maybe X22 if I am lucky. Dr Professor is a possibility, but getting him to stay long enough might be hard...

Guest raccoons visiting today. Fairly certain it is another mommy raccoon with one of her children, and wouldn't be surprised if the older was Gollum or Deagol(Smeagol's sibling and mother, respectively). One of them looks at least enough like Smeaogl that I need more than my secondary surveillance camera to identify. The pair made the unlucky(for them) decision to not approach a bowl of cat food until the very second I stepped out for the evening breakfast.

Unicode X22 just had his very first hand fed churu! Another side goal ticked off for my kitties! I had originally planned to use a long retractable spoon so I could slowly get closer, but I never got one and I don't keep churus around. Ended up not needing them to be able to pet X22

I don't know where Dorian is most of the time, but recent evidence has suggested he stays closer than I ever suspected. I have found him napping in the middle of my front yard at night while out on a walk with the Experience Gang, in the bushes during a walk, underneath my neighbors Zek car while on a walk.
For X22, he alternates, but he is often in close proximity to Jasper and Soda, or simply in my backyard.

I believe, this only leaves Inspector Clouseau and Dr Professor Euler, the later of which still surprises me. I actually have a better idea on where Inspector Clouseau goes after leaving. The Inspector almost exclusively goes north via through my neighbors driveway, likely crossing north or ne to yet another yard. I only learned about that yesterday, as he happened to cross paths with X22 when they were swapping places.

Just saw Carl(Gauss) outside my area of influence for the first time today. Mind you, it was in the middle of my across the street and 1 house over neighbors front lawn, and he was very likely slowly moving his way towards my home(I pass by at the start of my Spooky Kitties Walks, but I didn't see any glowing eyes until I passed by again on the way back).

Seems that the kitty stress from Carl(Gauss) officially joining the Spooky Kitties Ferals is finally dying down. It was very similar to the also slowly dying down Inspector Clouseau situation, as Carl came in and tried to scare off all the "scary" kitties. He is much bigger than everyone, so it worked for a while, though Dr Professor Euler was the most stressed. He is only just now back to a regular schedule.

A week later, and Smeagol seems comfortable enough to properly introduce me to her children. She actually brought them to my door, before setting them loose to bathe in the water, two just barely able to fit in at the same time.

I have been trying out dry cat food cereal on more cats recently, both because of curiosity from The Poltergeists insisting on on having it for his ritualistic offering, and simply because it costs a lot to feed 7 cats wet food(Penguin only likes the scraps(she will ignore a full container), and my mom pays for Murphy's wet food). I wasn't surprised Carl(Gauss) likes it. Fairly certain The Big Guy has some missing teeth, as he tends to avoid the dry.

The feral meowing has become increasingly clearer lately. In the beginning, it sounded hoarse, as if they were just now remembering how to speak. In a way, they is likely true. They don't meow to each other much, though I know X22 yowls at Inspector Clouseau and Carl(Gauss). The Inspector sounded like he had never meowed. Now, X22 almost sounds like he has always meowed, and Inspector Clouseau meows up a storm when I come out.

Unicode X22 was confused, but he did not listen to the intrusive thoughts telling him to follow the visiting skunk like Jasper tried to do. I luckily put a stop to Jasper shenanigans before he regretted his life choices.

At the moment, it is only a few back strokes at a time, and only when he is eating. The later, admittedly, helps a lot. However, I was still expecting some adjusting, some moving away. Still have a long way to go with him.

In the "Things That Surprise Me" files, Unicode X22 started letting me pet him this week. Very surprising as I haven't done anything directly to further that cause. I have indirectly via Jasper and Soda using some of the same techniques I used on Jasper; e.g. I have been playing and petting those two as much as I can in front of X22. I had noticed a slight release of tension from X22 lately, so I went for the back pets.

I have seen a lot more of Carl(Gauss) this week. By that, I mean I watched him closely this morning and at least 1 other morning in the last week. I finally know the proper way to address him: Carl(Gauss), pronounced "Carl Gauss" in however the speakers tongue pronunces those two names. The parenthesis are silent.

I really really really hope I don't ever have to use honorifics with humans ever again. I think I have used "Ms Penguin" more than just Penguin. "Mr the Dr Professor" and "Mr The Inspector" for Euler and Inspector Clouseau, respectively. Plus, "Mr X22." For Dorian, I actually call that as often as Mr. Mr Murph. For the Experience Gang, I actually use "Gentlemen Jasper and Gentlemen Soda" more, with Euler and X22 thrown in as well.

Inspector Clouseau's meows are getting better by the day, and even in the same day. I happened to catch him again one final time about 30 minutes ago, and his meows were much clearer.

Got 2 short, but loud(loud for a cat who never meows), squeaky meows from The Inspector today in greeting. I think I am not up to 5 meows in total from Inspector Clouseau. Jasper and Soda were very nice and didn't interrupt, which I greatly appreciated.

Today, and one other time, I was a little slower than I usually am getting food to X22. X22 unlocked his meowing abilities the first time it happened. He did that these times, but he also made a movement that almost suggested as if he was considering rubbing up against my leg. I made a point to make sure Jasper saw Soda doing it, and now X22 seeing both of them. It could have been him just adjusting his seating position, but I wonder...

I have wondered recently if X22 has been giving hints that he is socializing by osmosis from Jasper and Soda. I first wondered about a monthish more ago when I first played with him. During that, he also started chasing Jasper around the yard in the way cats do when playing. However, I wasn't sure at the time that that was playing, as X22 doesn't interact with the other kitties as much, and Jasper has been known to try to play with cats who don't want to

A rare pictures of Inspector Clouseau. After nearly a years work with The Inspector, I can finally get close enough to both get a decent look at him AND take a decent picture. I am apparently less scary than Mr. The Kitten Soda Pop, who is half his size. Not exactly a big fan of him being scared of Soda, but I gotten work with what the ferals give me.

Jasper was being a very goofy, but safe, cat boy this morning. He made sure X22 knew that while he wanted to also snack off the plate, he respected X22's boundaries and that he wasn't going to attack by showing off his belly and rolling around on the patio.
