@vortiwife Each of the famous actors could be a representation of a past regeneration, and the Doctor has had their mind scattered around the weird "Identity-Esque" plot location. Each famous actor would have a little regeneration tell, all getting killed, but become incarnated at the end in the new regeneration with the not-famous actor, and it all explains all the Brain of Morbius stuff at the end so people can move on without baggage.
