A quick and simple animation of IDEX printers problem with mesh bed levelling, and one possible solution for it.
I'm still rather proud of my rendition of #Sovol3d M1D printhead (my reference photos were at an angle, and I can't just imagine what it looks like from the front, so I quickly made the right shape in FreeCAD, turned it correctly, and traced the result in Inkscape, adding some details by hand).
It was also my first time importing an existing #Friction2D project (the orange arrow) into my current project, thus combining several scenes, e.g losslessly reusing assets. Looking at maybe upgrading to a new 3D printer at some point in the next year, and as much as I'd love to build a Voron from scratch I'm not sure I'll have the time or the money.
Currently I'm looking at the Sovol SV08 (with the enclosure) and the Prusa Core One.
Does anyone here have any recommendations?

#3dprinting Had to have a discussion with my printer to deal with a Y-Axis issue. After an overnight print decided to spaghettify I had to replace the Y-axis belt and I thought the motor. But it was actually the belt gear that was slipping and needed to have its tension retaining screw tightened. I also didn't know how far to keep it from the body of the stepper motor so a couple of re-adjustments later and the printer and I are back on the same page.

JUST saw that the new #PrusaSlicer update has profiles for #Sovol3d printers. Gonna try to get it to work in #SuperSlicer . Might help with some of the other problems I was having with Floops McGee. #3dprinting

Resurrected floops mcgee. Tension on the gear is a little ridiculous though. And I found out this printer will gleefully ram into the print bed if youve pushed down on the extruder during maintenance in spite of the wee fancy touchy thingy. That ones my bad. #3dPrinting #Sovol3d
