I’m surprised that you don’t find #Soapbox pretty! I wonder what you’d think of #Elk; it seems kinda like if someone tried to do for #Mastodon what #SoapboxFE did for #pleroma

You can use fe.soapbox.pub from a #Pleroma or #Soapbox instance and then a #Mastodon instance to see the difference between running #SoapboxFE atop #rebased vs. #Mastodon, only #Mastodon has trending hashtags

Hmm there’s a weird bug in #SoapboxFE when viewing hashtag pages that causes the page to constantly reload it’s results, so much so that after awhile I get a “trottled” toast…

After migrating @yunohost and #Debian to 11, I'm getting lots of ERROR 500's via #PleromaFE as well as with #SoapboxFE v2 & v3 when using Chromium or Firefox based browsers. Unable to load timelines. Husky appears to be posting and loading successfully, with the exception of the Federated timeline not loading (An error occurred)
Only issues seem to be Pleroma related. #nextcloud #metronome and #wallabag all seem to be working correctly. -

Okay I’ve been playing coy about this for almost a year but I guess there’s no harm in going public with it; I want to set up a pseudo-experimental server with a personal #MastodonBE + #SoapboxFE instance, and want to run both #Windows and #Linux because there are a couple server softwares I want to install on #Windows instead of #Linux

Yeah that's a #Mastodon limitation
#SoapboxFE is designed to be adaptable to #Mastodon. For example, use it with a #Mastodon instance and you can see trending hashtags, trending posts, and recommend users to follow, which are all #Mastodon features, but if you use it with a #Soapbox instance, you won't be able to use or see those features -

Wer das neue #SoapboxFE einfach mal ausprobieren will, kann das übrigens unkompliziert tun. Funktioniert nicht nur mit #Pleroma sondern auch mit #Mastodon Accounts, wie ich gerade erstaunt feststelle. Einfach mal https://fe.soapbox.pub ansurfen, die Domain der eigenen Instanz eingeben (also zB mastodon.social) und für seinen Account den Zugriff erlauben. Mit “LogOut” geht diese Erlaubnis dann wieder weg. :) #fediverse

I think the path to success for the #Fediverse necessitates a handful of polished, centralizes clients that utilize decentralized servers.
The mobile apps for #Matrix do a great job of this, as do all the mobile #Fediverse apps.
fe.soapbox.pub is the first step in this direction, but #SoapboxFE is by no means the only polished frontend. I don’t prefer it but #Mastodon is also something that could benefit from this model.

Ich spiele gerade mit #SoapboxFE als alternative Oberfläche für meine #Pleroma Instanz herum. Es gibt 3 relevante Releases: 1.1.0, 1.3.0 und 2.0.0. Letzteres ist natürlich die neueste (vor einem Monat released).
Von den dreien ist aber nur 1.1.0 rund, die anderen beiden haben unterschiedliche Probleme und / oder Inkonsistenzen in der UI. 🤔
Die Version 1.1.0 (1 Jahr alt) gefällt mit allerdings echt gut! Die werde ich wohl etwas weiter nutzen! :)
