Dass die Internet-Sperre im Iran teilweise aufgehoben wurde, kann ich an meinen Snowflake-Proxies deutlich erkennen. Vor allem einer hat seitdem viel mehr Zugriffe, ein anderer nicht ganz so sehr. Möglicherweise ist dessen IP-Adresse dem iranischen Regime (etwa aufgrund des auf dem selben Server laufenden Signal-Proxies) bekannt und gesperrt?

I always have three browser instances open. Firefox on Desktop 3, which I mostly use. On Desktop 6, Vivaldi with my profile, with credentials to a different YouTube account. And on Desktop 9, an instance of Vivaldi, with my third YouTube account and my father's various accounts.
I open these three instances when I start the computer. All three have #SnowflakeProxy installed. For some reason, one instance always shows far more connections than the other two. Odd.

Die Nutzung der Schneeflocken ist dramatisch eingebrochen.
Ich hab jetzt seit ca drei Wochen zusätzlich Orbot auf dem Handy installiert, und dabei nur den "Freundlichkeitsmodus" aktiviert, was in etwa der Funktionalität von Snowflake entspricht.
Die Anzahl der Verbindungen in der dritten Woche ist ca ein Sechstel derer in den beiden Wochen davor. Der Zeitpunkt entspricht ziemlich genau der Sperre des Iranischen Internets. 😬
Auf PC/Laptop hab ich überhaupt nur mehr 1-2 Verbindungen pro Tag. 😟

Ist ja schön und gut, mittels #Conduit und/oder #SnowflakeProxy Leuten aus Regionen mit zensiertem Internet zu helfen, würde ich auch gerne machen. Aber ist wirklich ausgeschlossen (bei beiden Verfahren), dass ich "dran" bin, wenn einer der Nutzer auch hierzulande (zurecht) verbotenen Content abruft?

Die Nutzung meiner kleinen Schneeflocke hat sich in den letzten Tagen vervielfacht! 😲
Ich hab seit Jahren das Snowflake-Addon nebenher im Browser laufen, und im vergangenen Jahr war da meistens fast nichts los.
Gibt's als Addon für Forefox, Chrome und Edge. Das tut dann immer, wenn eines den Browser offen hat, keine Konfiguration oder Interaktion notwendig:

Looks people of #iran are back on the Internet. During the time of the block I had like 10 - 20 connections per hour on my #SnowflakeProxy.

Earlier this month my phone running #orbot with #kindnessmode enabled was used as a #snowflakeproxy over 200 times per night several nights in a row. It lasted for less than a week. Now it's back to about 3-10 per night as usual. Does anybody know what caused this massive spike? I only run it on Wi-Fi and primarily when I sleep at home. #tor #snowflake #proxy

Tor IPs are public so banning your IP will also block the #SnowflakeProxy

Ugh, sad to hear Signal is getting blocked in more countries.
I don't have the necessary knowledge (or domain names) to host a proxy myself, so I hope at least my Tor Snowflake Proxy helps someone at least.

Hmm, wieviele Zugriffe über #SnowflakeProxy habt ihr so im Schnitt? Ich hatte jetzt gerade einmal 20 in 24h. Keine Ahnung, ob es daran liegt, dass ich das nur übers Handy mache 🤔
