Here, in my umpty-umth year on this green planet, I have gotten up every morning and had to choose between smiting, and not-smiting. Many thousands of mornings, many thousands of choosings.

I have not yet gotten up and chosen smiting.

But there have been days, and people, lately, which are pushing me closer than I've ever been...

Watching "The Shoes of the Fisherman". It starts with 4 minutes of overture then 2 minutes of credits. Ahhhh the good old days when audiences didn't demand instant gratification!

The original writer had his name removed from the credits because the director and actors decided to make changes which "destroyed the theological validity of the plot" without consulting him. No wonder the film lost money, it was *theologically invalid* and God smote it with great vengeance and furious anger. #smiting
