  1. 🎉 #AWS is more reliable than a toddler with a crayon, until it's not! All it took was a 14-hour hiccup to turn seasoned techies into nail-biting, hotel-bound philosophers questioning cloud infallibility 🤔. Apparently, #SLAs are just good suggestions when the cloud gods decide to nap. 💥

  2. 🌱 Making AI Sustainability Visible: Introducing a New DSL for Environmental Impact Documentation

In this work, we aim to leverage the concept of #quality models and service level agreements (#SLAs) common in other IT fields and merge them with existing ML model reporting initiatives and Green/Frugal AI proposals to formalize a Sustainable #QualityModel for AI/ML models.

Work led by Gwendal JOUNEAUX to be presented at the 2nd Workshop on Green-Aware #ArtificialIntelligence (Green-Aware AI) to take place in conjunction with the 28th European Conference on Artificial Intelligence (#ECAI)

  6. Many service providers set service level agreements (SLAs) for their services. Though, not all SLAs are the same. In this article, I've picked the SLAs for #AWS EC2 and #Google Cloud Compute Engine as an example to show that - even though those services have more than three nines of #SLA - the economic value of those SLAs is near zero. This dark side of the #SLAs is one of the many reasons you should always create resilient applications that can survive some of their machines going down.

  7. A sense of urgency is essential in a design review process. Delivery and business do not stopand the review will always be the first to blame for delays. Having some official (or unofficial SLAs) is a practical way to support the process.
