I finished #skindeep today and wow! The final level was crazy but the boss fight was more of a wrap up cinematic. It's an excellent if a little out wonky #OpenSource #stealthgames entry.

Anyone who likes goofy #stealthgames should check out #SkinDeep
It's very fun and they released the source code to encourage more people to make games like this. Which also means it's probably insanely moddable now.

Having finished #SkinDeep (which is great btw) been sticking with Steam and working on the backlog:
#DungeonGolf Putt putt golf with monsters and treasure chests, and if that wasn't amusing enough already the TV broadcast presentation with a play by play and color commentator just adds to the silliness.
#4DGolf another putt putt game, but this one hurts my head. The "4th" dimension is another physical plane. I still haven't quite grasped the concept.
#EnaDreamBBQ is some damn strange stuff. I was unaware of the YT vids so all I saw was a trailer for it at some point and wishlisted it on Steam. Chapter One dropped in March and I missed the notif somehow, partner watches some channels that do gameplay vids and she reminded me about it yesterday. Free DL btw, and do rec checking it out.
#ProjectGorgon Picked this one up as I liked the concept of basically everything you do being a skill, even dying lol. Also attempting to fill the #WoW vacancy in my gaming life, figured why not add a "new to me" MMO.
#ClunkyHero Been my #SteamDeck bedtime game lately. It's a fairly routine metroidvania which is fine. Story is amusing. Suits the "half hour session" play style well.
#MarioGolf no, not that one, or that one. The Gameboy Color one, lol. Been the other Deck game lately. #EmuDeck ftw.
I'm also still doing the #PSVR2 most days, so either #NoMansSky or #GT7 atm. May have another look at the compatible list to see if there's anything worth picking up.

Skin Deep (PC)
There's a new pirate queen in space, and she has a hit out on you, insurance commando extraordinaire Nina Pasadena. Get out there and save those cats!TL;DR: a fun FPS stealth-ish romp with a good sense of humor and mechanics.
Skin Deep is weird, but in a good way. For some reason this universe is populated with voxel cats that crew space ships, and it's your job to get tucked away in cryosleep until pirates hijack them. Then you're woken up and have to "Jane McClane" your way through the ducts and nooks (also without shoes, for those of you that are prob too young to get the Die Hard ref, lol), take out the pirates, and free the cats.
This game was built in the Doom 3 engine (yes, it's 20 years old now OMG I'm old.) which judging by this experience, holds up pretty well. I had a couple moments of wonkiness where I got stuck in the wall after going through a doorway, but luckily there was something to interact with nearby that got me free heh. Also it ran well on Linux via Proton 9 and was controller compatible, mostly. Left Dpad as "hold this to bring up heal menu" didn't work, had to have KB near to hold Tab.
I like how each level layout allows you pretty decent freedom in how you deal with the pirates. Sure, they put roadblocks you have to unlock, literally, but it's still up to you what order you proceed through.
The overall story is decent, but it's nothing new. It serves the purpose admirably but you'll be guessing the beats most of the way through the game. Still, there's some good humor, particularly in the email exchanges with the cats you rescue. Found the soundtrack to be quite decent as well.
Overall, I have enjoyed the 12 or so hours it took to finish the story, and will be going back to replay levels so I can collect the secrets I missed. I definitely think the full price of admission is worth it. Do recommend checking it out, esp when it inevitably goes on 50% off sale.

In case you haven't noticed yet, the open source idTech4-based game Skin Deep has been released and it's fucking excellent:
https://store.steampowered.com/app/301280/Skin_Deep/It's a sneaky ImSim FPS where you play Nina Pasadena, some kind of Space-MacGyver rescuing cats from Space Pirates, using whatever you can find on the space ships to eliminate those pirates.
While it works very well with Proton (and presumably Wine), I maintain an unofficial Linux port at https://github.com/DanielGibson/SkinDeep
