I’m not really a cat person anymore… but if I have to choose between the massive patches of #mosquito bites these mosquitoes seem to cause nowadays and having every cat in the neighbourhood chase after me, I’m definitely choosing the cats.

@karlauerbach You buy a pack of Nepeta Cataria seeds. You have to get the "ULTRA" variety to get a real cat to sprout out of the pot. Otherwise, you just get #catnip

Catnip and Ants
I started a lovely herb garden this year. I am quite proud of my little bed of goodies. I planted basil, catnip, mint, hyssop, motherwort, yarrow, sage, mallow, oregano, and a random melon/ cucumber plant that managed to fall into the mix. Last Fall @wplalonde brought me home a bouquet of mostly spent Catnip flowers from a wild patch up at Thompson Park.
I sprinkled the seeds into some small pots and crossed my fingers.And the miracle of nature happened!
I finally got around to planting this little guy outside today.
(Now to keep my fingers crossed that the neighbourhood cats leave it alone until it can get established 😅)

I am paying for some “cat collar” crime. I nabbed a piece of catnip from one of the bedding plants today and stuffed it in my jeans’ pocket for the cats. Now my pocket smells like catnip and the cats are VERY interested in my pocket. Rookie mistake! I should have put it in my jacket pocket.
