#BOTD in 1875 in #ModernChina: Qiu Jin #秋瑾, #Chinese #revolutionary and #feminist. Known as the Women Knight of Mirror Lake 鑒湖女俠, she joined the anti-Qing movement in #Japan. Executed in 1907, she is worshipped as a #martyr in the #Sinophone world. #ChineseHistory #feminism

😍 I'm over the moon to share the news that #Transtopia in the #Sinophone Pacific (Columbia UP, 2021) has received the Alan Bray Memorial Book Award Honorable Mention from the GL/Q Caucus of the Modern Language Association for the best book in LGBTQ studies in literary and cultural studies.
