"Toy boy" - Sinitta
The crowd need something to wake them up after standing through all ten million hours of bongiovi.
No comment on the star's choice of clothes, but might the backing dancers wear something a little, um, looser?

"So macho" - Sinitta
Gay disco, shot with a family-friendly video taking the piss out of strong men by rejecting professional weaklings. The psychiatrist is played by Mike Savage who we knew from Eureka!, and as Roland Browning's father in Grange Hill.
Sinitta was already big in musical theatre, dated David Essex, produced by Simon Cowell, and had failed to win the BBC's 1984 selection for the Eurovision Song Contest. This wasn't her first time on #TOTP, either, having been one of the retained dancers during 1983-4.

"Right back where we started from" - Sinitta
Sinitta's in her usual colourful outfit - leopard-print jacket, short denim shorts, big red cowboy hat. Her four backing dancers have all-white outfits, with leather-effect waistcoats, looking very natty. Epic Sax Guy appears and vanishes. Fine and disposible pop.

"Cross my broken heart" - Sinitta
Plenty of choreography to look at, guys who forgot to put their shirts on, and Sinitta's really short skirt. But this fails to distract us from how the song is the thinnest of thin gruel.
A music-box style chorus, tinkling and weedy; a lyric that shoots its bolt by the first chorus.
It's all tremendously dull. Dull doesn't do well on #TOTP, especially not as an opener.

"Right Back Where We Started From" is a song written by #PierreTubbs and #JVincentEdwards, which was first recorded in the middle of 1975 by British singer #MaxineNightingale for whom it was an international hit. In 1989, a remake by British singer #Sinitta reached No. 4 on the #UKSinglesChart. The music features a significant repetitive sample from the song "Goodbye, Nothing to Say", written by Stephen Jameson and Marshall Doctores.

Breakers! Sinitta has "Cross my broken heart", gadding about in her miniskirt, in a caff, with prominent product placement, and the most literal interpretation of a song since Legs & Co.
She'll be in the studio next week.

"GTO" - Sinitta
Last week, Morris Minor and the Majors pretended to be car mechanics. This week, Sinitta pretends to be a car mechanic, and follows Formula Sinitta to the letter: upbeat disco, gay dancers, singing about a boyfriend who loves his car more than his squeeze.
Have some Morris Minor.
