An out of season photo of Window Buttress on Simonside Crag, just to warm things up a it. The "window" was formed when the whole place was at the bottom of an ice sheet with high pressure meltwater scouring around. Beacuse this area is never "managed" the plants are as they should be in this habitat, heather, bilberries, a little bracken and a woodrush #Crag #Rock #RockFormation #Northumberland #SImonside #Landscape #Geography #Geology
