[P] It would be the funniest thing in the world to me if SCP-682 was describing the sociopathy room as disguating. It'd make sense. In Avalon, SCP-6001, the indestructible reptiles no longer describe people as disguating—because it's clear that there it's been eradicated. If that's the case? I want to give 682 a big, comforting hug. "It's okay. I think it's disgusting too. I know mutualism is logical. There, there."

Instead of the SOTU, why not read a horror story about a VHS tape of Ronald Reagan?

Now that I finally feel comfortable on #mastodon, and have a general idea of what I want to post, I think it's time for my first #introduction!
I'm tpaau, a #Polish guy with #autism. :blobcat: I'm interested in #cybersecurity, #privacy, the #ScpFoundation, #airsoft, and #cats. I will post mainly about my interests, projects I'm working on, and related stuff.

Are here any Analog Horror fans? :0
Or people that like the SCP Foundation

I read a SCP Foundation tale about immortalising everyone and I welcome sweet Oblivion after reading that....

@toxy The #SCP in the #SCPFoundation stands for "Secure, Contain, Protect." This phrase represents the organization's main mission: to secure anomalies, contain them to prevent any threat, and protect humanity from these anomalous objects, entities, and phenomena. The SCP Foundation is a secretive fictional organization that captures, studies, and contains various supernatural or inexplicable anomalies to keep the world safe and preserve normalcy.

The only thing about #SCP I wish there was more of is art. Cursed, and supernatural art is a highly under utilized concept, we got some good ones, but more would be cool
-
@wristroom this could be a mildly threatening SCP, one some of the senior members of the Foundation might keep in their office.

[P] Also, the revelry around SCP-5000 in the SCP community is off-putting. It's frankly nothing more than All-Stars SCP references suffer-porn laced with a sociopath's edgy distaste for empathy (painting it as unnatural and flawed), coupled with that Rick & Morty-esque pseudointellectuality of "You have to be smart to get it."
I can't say that I'm a fan, but I've already spoken about lemmings and suffer-porn so... I'll leave it at that.

I really wanted to make a cool ref sheet of my version of Dr. Wondertainment. If you have any questions I'll gladly answer them. #scp #scp_foundation #scpfoundation ##drwondertainment #dr_wondertaiment #art #scpart #digitalart #cartoon #alagadda

[P] I think I'm not a fan of the concept of canon, it feels more like an egomaniacal need for control than aught else, where things are writ in stone that ought not be. The SCP wiki preferring hubs and self-contained, cohesive storylines over canon appeals to me. It feels patently ludicrous to claim that any given person's interpretation is invalid "'Cause dat ain't cannon! Kaboom!" An annoying, nonsensical farce.

The Foundation has been the success story of the summer sale! Bringing that #SCP action to the tabletop with the Breathless System, it's 20% right now! #TTRPG #SCPFoundation

CW: I have decided to try my hand at writing some SCP fanfic.
I'm doing it here and not through official SCP channels because... I had a really bad experience the last time I tried my hand at any SCP writing, and while I understand that the community has gotten a whole lot cooler since, I am not confident enough about my dumb idea to try floating it directly at the SCP fandom, so I figured I'd test it out on here first and see if anybody enjoys this.
---CLEARANCE LEVEL 4 OR ABOVE---
This is an emergency transmission to any and all SCP Foundation listening posts in adjacent realities that can receive this. This is former Archivist and now Site Director Jackson Danvers at Foundation Storage Site 181, and as of about 2 days ago, apparently the highest ranking official within the Foundation.
There are a lot of things that, as of now, I am not sure of. I'm not sure if this transmitter has the power we need to reach across realities, our site wasn't really designed for this sort of situation. Even if you can receive us, I'm not sure we can receive your reply or if there's anything you could do for us. And, perhaps most frustratingly, I'm not sure… what happened. We are transmitting this with the hope that if anyone can hear us, we can at least pass on the information we have collected so far, and maybe warn other realities - assuming this was localized to our reality and not widespread - against whatever has taken place here.
Our reality has undergone a massive K-Class event, possibly several concurrent events. We don't have any hard data, for reasons that will become apparent, but Dr. Akkenzo (our senior researcher) is saying it's definitionally either a CK or RK, but I'm not really sure it matters at this point. Whatever the cause, whatever the reason, two days ago something swept through reality and - as far as we can tell - retroactively erased the Foundation, along with multiple other known organizations that specialize in similar fields.
If we don't exist in your reality or timeline or however this multiverse stuff works, Site 181 is a small, remote, perpetually understaffed facility that primarily deals with Anomalous Item storage and document archival. Counting all the individuals that were inside the building at the time of the "event", that's 27 people total who appear to make up the whole of the Foundation presence in our world now. We have a minimal gear depot designed to resupply MTF teams, most of it is brand new in the package but also a couple of decades old. The research and containment staff we have assigned to us are all Class C/Clearance Level 2 or below, and none of them have any meaningful field experience besides Anomalous Item classification. Our most "experienced" researcher and only other surviving Clearance Level 3 staff is Dr. Akkenzo, who was transferred here 'voluntarily' as 'punishment for goofing around' as he tells it, but according to his personnel file (which I can now access), was 'demoted for dangerous, unsupervised, unsanctioned SCP cross-testing' and functionally exiled to our facility as a way to keep him from killing himself or others.
The running theory is that whatever happened somehow bypassed the Foundation-standard Scranton Reality Anchors, but wasn't effective against our antique Buxholme Hume Condensers. This building was slated to be upgraded to SRAs, however by the time we were up for the overhaul they had discovered the problems SRAs have with written documents, and since document storage is a good third of our warehouse space, they decided to leave us with the older, safer BHCs. If this was a targeted attack, and that is a very big IF, it's possible that they didn't account for a site running such out-of-date hardware. It's also equally possible that whatever happened was an accident, or some other form of natural phenomena, and that the fact it did not effect our site is merely a coincidence. We just don't know.
We are still actively investigating what is going on, and I will transmit again once we have collected more information. #scp# #scpfoundation #scpfanfiction -
Some of the best and most creative writing I've read comes from that website, apparently some actual horror fiction writers have also added material (or maybe it's just a myth?)
It's so good that if you did read it out of context, ...say regurgitated to you via the Plagiarism Machine, you could think it was real, a fully realised alternate world.Fuck the Fortune Teller Hucksters who unleased this AI shit on the World!
-
Incredible that the horror story website I've been frequenting for almost 20 years broke a $2 Billion CEO's mind...and all because of plagiarism!
-
@benroyce The Plagiarism Machine seems to be ripping off the SCP Foundation and telling it's investors that they're the SCPs that must be contained?
I mean it does kinda have a point, well it would if it had a mind...
-
Dude, the SCP Foundation....it's just scary stories...it's not real.
"Social media users were quick to note that ChatGPT’s answer to Lewis' queries takes a strikingly similar form to SCP Foundation articles, a Wikipedia-style database of fictional horror stories created by users online."
I wish these investors would learn the difference Reality and Fiction, the rest of us do.
