  1. What tea do you drink on your birthday? Do you pick a special tea or a special type of tea? Or just drink your usual teas? I picked this "Lotus Peak Shui Xian" from Tong Xin She Teahouse as a special tea to start the day and the next year of my life.

  2. Second tea from the White2Tea 2023 rock oolongs, "meizhan". According to their website, meizhan is usually heavily represented in "da hong pao" blends, but this is pure meizhan. Fairly heavy roast and oxidation, this is a pretty serious rock oolong.

  3. The 2021 Stone Milk from White2Tea is another lighter roast/oxidation style rock oolong, making it quite fragrance forward.

  4. 2022 release Spring Peach rock oolong from White2Tea. This is good, but it is my least favorite of their 2022 rock oolongs. Something about the roast/oxidation/flavor just doesn't quite do it for me. I do prefer heavier oxidation/roast levels and Spring Peach is on the lighter-medium side for both. Also, tea monster has returned, recovered from his cat accident broken foot. Here's hoping it holds up to future pours!

  5. 2021 Superfine (tèjí) Rou Gui from Old Ways Tea Company. Phil and Mengjiao from Old Ways seem like super nice people AND they ship their teas from near me in California. How could I NOT order and try their rock oolongs?

  6. Penultimate rock oolong from Tong Xin She Teahouse' yancha flight, Bai Rui Xiang, aka White Winter Daphne. A fragrance forward oolong.

  7. Yancha holiday continues with Yue Ming Xiang rock oolong from Tong Xin She Teahouse. Lighter oxidation, lighter roast oolong. The name apparently means, "the aroma of lucid moon" and is traditionally drunk during full moon festivals.

  8. Trying this experimental black tea pot from Jiri Duchek (via Pu-Erh.sk) with some everyday Da Hong Pao from Tong Xin She Teahouse. Hm. Might be too porous, maybe Shu Puerh instead?
