So I did, I scoured the interweb with the symptoms and model in search for an answer.
I finally found some old posts in an old support forum suggesting it might be the power button.
Could it be that simple?
I then found the maintenance guide with instructions on how to replace the button.
The brand does not sell the part anymore, but aliexpress does :). I ordered one for less than 20€, it arrived yesterday.
Here we go again: open, unplug, clean, replace the button, close it up.I pushed the button, and...
It lighted up. Solid white. A few seconds later, the login screen showed up, my old trusty system was back to life.
