I had to remove the dermashield from my tattoo due to the itching around the tattoo. I started having a reaction to the adhesive. The tattoo itself was feeling fine.

Which is wild because I wear CGMs for 2 weeks at a time.

I’ve started the aftercare and so far the tattoo is already looking better than the first attempt.

I’m using Tattoo Goo care kit this time around. So far I’m liking it.

I got home and took a nap, and forgot to post the fresh result from the rework.

He put a bit of emphasis on enhancing the color of the rainbow, darkening the blackout parts, and letting the fades stay, as well as brightening some of the lines.

Now let’s see how it heals.

So my Rich Skipworth Derp Side of the Moon inspired tattoo healed kinda badly. Probably a combination of my skin health and the tattoo, less so the tattooist.

Visited the tattooist today and he did an “oof” and told me to schedule a couple more hours with him at no cost. So he’s going to fix it up.

Need to find a day for this.

Damaged the dermshield. Yeah, messy.

So it's off a day before I really wanted to take it off.

Skin is angry. Got the aquaphor going.

But it is kinda nice to see more than just a black patch on my arm now.

Can't wait for this to heal so I can get a nice pic of it to send to Rich.

@spidermedic The original art is by Rich Skipworth and called Derp Side of the Moon. I emailed him a couple of months ago about it and he seemed stoked. So once it’s healed I plan to take a better pic of it for him, and he might post it on his facebook.

Well it’s done.

Might need some touchup a bit later. Edges should fade a bit.

For now it’s looking gross under the derm shield.

During the #GGGW walk, a man pointed at my Rich Skipworth “Greyhound Fan Club” shirt and said “Hey I have that on my hat!”

Me: “Oh, you’re a fan of Rich Skipworth as well?”

Him: “Huh?”

Me: “Yeah, Rich Skipworth, the artist.”

Him: “Oh, I got this on Ali Express.”

Me: “Oh…I prefer the artist to actually get paid.”

Moment of silence. Him, visibly offended: “But you can’t beat $2.50!”

Rich Skipworth’s merch isn’t expensive, and he has frequent sales…
