We've had good rain this spring and now into summer, so the cornfields are looking good.

I've been posting some straight photography lately, not digital paintings. Here's my most recent I call it "As High As An Elephant's Eye" referring to the cornfield of course. We do get some gorgeous skies here. This is one of my favorite barns, just down the road from our place, and has featured in at least one other of my images.

Dark Clouds Coming

I can't speak for all photographers, but for me there's nothing as exciting as fabulous light.The trick is when you see it (and you have your camera with you) you have to find SOMEthing to put in it! Onto unfamiliar country roads I went searching for that perfect focal point. In this case, a red barn in a golden field filled the bill.

There's just something breathtaking about a red barn with a backdrop of a snow-covered mountain. This barn and silo are located in Palmer, Alaska. The photographer is amazing and she goes by Sassy Soul.
