Good coffee greeted me this morning. Well ... it didn't exactly greet me, I had to grind the beans and brew it, but it is better than road coffee.

I'll go to pick up Ben and Charlie this morning. Then the house will be as it should be. But, for the time being, there is peace and quiet. Nobody bugging me to fix their meals.

When I was a small child, we were driving back to San Diego, California from seeing my father's parents in Texas and we stopped at Calico Ghost Town. While there, we picked up a stray orange kitten in a parking lot and took it home with us. I was trying to remember its name, I think the cat had a pink nose, so we named the cat Pinky. I wonder now, was Pinky really a stray or were we catnapers.

Lakeville Barn

Lakeville highway in Sonoma County runs south out of Petaluma and empties out on highway 37.
Thirty years ago the land along Lakeville highway was mainly old family farms where cows and sheep were common.

Probably the most photographed barn in Medina County, Ohio, this dilapidated structure sits in the Medina County Park System’s Buckeye Woods Park. Photogs and, likely, other artists find the aged and heavily weathered walls and roof visually interesting — evoking imaginative thoughts of its long history.
