  2. The atlas on the right, a 2nd ed. I've had since my earliest own book days, something like 5 yo. I just found another copy of it, a 3rd ed., with the dust jacket and the Peace book for $2 each! Sweet day!!

  3. I have a totally serious & honest question.

    What the fuck is this?

Yes, I know what the obvious answer is, I think. And no, I haven't seen a print copy in a while. Yes, they went bankrupt.

Did their art collection get sold off?

  4. Another thing that's different from my childhood:

How ubiquitous the #ReadersDigest was. It was in every doctor's office and in as many homes.

I don't remember the last time I saw a Readers Digest.

  5. So farewell Readers' Digest -- the old-fashioned repository for inspirational tales, advice on health, weight loss and Dad jokes. You were an anachronism in an enshitified internet age.

"Humour is the best medicine" -- that was one of yours.

  6. Another print magazine is closing up shop in #Canada - seems #ReadersDigest has pulled the plug on the #Canadian edition after 76 years. Standard bathroom reading in the home where I grew up (though I admit I grew out of it, not radical enough I guess, after I left home). Announcement in #GlobeAndMail #GiftLink from a week ago (I just heard today)

  7. Got recently acquainted with an excellent series of classic literature books, printed by Reader’s Digest and titled “World's Best Reading”. My inner collector got really excited and looks towards building a small collection.

  8. @tchambers

    Very true.

But then, it took thousands of years for #ReadersDigest to come to market...the #Fediverse is not even a decade old.

  9. Didn't get the audiobook I wanted (yet) but I did figure out how to pay Google Play now.. 😅

  10. I miss having a nice thick Reader's Digest that you would open and read over and over again - getting more out of it as you read the more obscure stuff because you were bored and wanted something to read, and you'd get something different out of it each time. #readersdigest

  11. Don’t mean to boast (oh yes I do…) but I’m appearing in the latest issue of #readersdigest #Mazda #Turkiye

  17. Any subscribers out here? 📖 👀

I'm in the process of designing a magazine, and want to see the page where they show the author's profile pic and short bio on the side, at the beginning of the article. Any idea where I could get pictures of that? 🔎 📃
