  1. Ovi kello soi.

Samalla sääsin vauhdin viholliset V-jarrut pojalle parempaan pitoon

    Jatkossakin saa soittaa,

  2. Random act of kindness ❤️

  4. Refuse collection day. When I went to get the bins in I noticed that someone had left two #carrots on the emptied, upturned bottles box. Covert delivery of poisoned food or random act of kindness?

„Handy verloren? Es liegt bei Edeka im 1. OG an der Info :)“

  6. Giving your seat on the subway to a kid that wants to sit next to their mommy is a #RandomActOfKindness
Nothing to be applauded but it can change someone's mood for the day. Be considerate. :)

  7. A strager remembered me about starting the day being grateful to be here (wherever hear is for you) and savouring the good things.

What a joyful way to start the day with a smile

  12. Today I gave away my guitar.

Spotted across the hall at the now defunct Manchester Computer Fair, resting incongruously amidst the motherboards and hard drives, I recognised the unexpected chance to fulfil a lifelong dream. Learn to play.

My daughter, living with us at the time and for many years a Grade 8 player, offered to teach me. As usual I almost left it too late to take up her kind offer. Procrastination is, after all, my middle name. Within 2-3 months I'd progressed to the point where I could play a 2-minute "Spanish" piece, from memory, with fewer than a handful of bum notes. I was quite pleased with myself, if I'm honest. Until reality hit. I'm one of those people who doesn't want to do something unless I can be good at it. Could I be good at this? They say it takes 20,000 hours to become proficient with that kind of motor skill. I'd been giving it 15 minutes a day. The maths didn't stack up.

So for the last five years the guitar (a lovely Encore semi-acoustic -- a basic model, but with a wonderful rich tone) has sat in the top room, unloved and gathering dust, waiting for the touch of a more eager learner. And now we're downsizing, and won't even have room for it to gather another layer of dust.

I offered it to the neighbours. We have a WhatsApp group; it's a friendly neighbourhood. One of their daughters recently said she'd like to learn guitar. Serendipity strikes. And so, it's gone. A bottle of red wine stands in its place, the universal token of appreciation. Another item ticked off the long list of divestments, but this one tugged at my heart more than most.

  13. Listen y'all, my dear trans friends. When you see someone's selfie, tell them something nice. Don't make it up. Take a moment, and find something to compliment them on that you feel genuine about.

Why? Because who knows better than us how good it feels when someone says something nice about your picture? Why *wouldn't* you want to spread that joy?

Dysphoria is a big old liar. We need to fight it with one another's help as much as by ourselves.

  14. More than a few times I've pulled up at a Starbucks drive-through window to learn the car before me already paid for my order. A random act of kindness. I usually ask to pay for the car behind me — let's keep the kindness going.

Today, I was a passenger in a car with a few people and we learned the car in front had paid for our order. Someone suggested we pay for the car behind us. Our driver said, "No, I'm going to take the money and tip the Starbucks employee instead."
