Taking Shape
I’ve got a rack to help carry things and a small bag for tools and emergency supplies. But the 42mm wheels are really making a comfort difference. Definitely increased the fun factor.
Note on the back is a kickstand for my #radwagon4 . The bolt snapped and I had to bring it in to get the small chunk drilled out. Eric at #rochmn cycling had it done in 10 minutes. Threw in a new bolt for me also. #BikeTooter -
Couple weeks ago, after three seasons of use, I finally put some hydraulic brakes on my #Radwagon4 . So much better.
Growing up I learned very few repair skills, so as an adult I’ve often found satisfaction in learning to do these tasks. First time doing them is usually intense. Do i have the tools? What’s the process? Where are the holes in my YouTube education? Lots of people on forums say contradicting things. And there often isn’t a second time. #BikeTooter #diy #ebike -
I'm not even kidding when I say the motorbike dvr system I installed, is Potato Quality. But I know that going in.
After all it was only £37.
It can't even read number plates in broad daylight at 2 meters distance.
However, now I can plan accordingly for a higher quality system, knowing that it's not ridiculous. -
Well, got my potato quality motorbike dashcam, which comes with it's own buck converter (12v-30v to 5v).
I'm gonna have to do a little cable splicing here and there, but I should be able to get it all wired up on my cargobike.Hard part will be figuring out how best to mount it the screen.
That's a project for tomorrow.

Today marks hopefully the final chapter in a journey through #RadPowerBikes customer support.
- Late November, lights fail on my #RadWagon4. When front light is disconnected, back light works, but front is borked regardless.
- "Looks like a controller issue."
"You certain?"
"Oh yes, we'll send you one."- Two months pass, it arrives. Install it. Nope. Still borked.
- "It's not the controller. Can you send a replacement light?"
"We could, but it's out of stock. We'll send it once it's back." -
Something I should've done soon as I got my Radwagon 4, but today the Bike Register kit arrived.
I'm not sure how effective it may be, should the bike ever get stolen, but can't say I don't take precautions.

Few months ago, my front light crapped out. Discovered that when it's plugged in, the rear light don't work either, but soon as it's unplugged, rear light works again.I emailed support, and they said it was a controller issue. So after two long months, I finally received a replacement controller.
Just spent an hour unplugging, plugging in, testing, unplugging, plugging in again, etc. 3 times just to make sure.
Lo and behold... it's not the controller.

Today has felt productive.
Gave my bike a proper wash down getting the worst of the winter gunk off. It'll need it again before summer.But also degreased and oiled the chain, cleaned the battery cradle, and replaced the brake pads.
Feels good, man.

Managed to unleash the full power of my #RadWagon4 today.
Dry surface, low wind, long (private) road.
Topped out at 26mph.
That might not sound like a lot, but remember this is a longtail cargo bike.
Suffice to say, I'm happy.

MEIN GOTT!
That Eggrider really did unleash a beast. Got up to 25mph with ease, but I daren't go faster today, as it got dark quick and roads are super wet.
Radwagon tires don't have the most grip as I've learned in the past.
But it was definitely nice to be able to use the full 500 watts in the motor.
Still, gonna be careful. All I wanted was a tad more power to make the daily commute a bit more hospitable. -
Progress report with my #Radwagon4 :
Just installed the Eggrider V2, gonna 3D print a wee little hood for it.
Haven't done a test run yet as it's raining outside, but did get a large enough bicycle cover (No shed or indoor storage I'm afraid) so now it's at least protected from the rain and I don't get a wet bum at the start.I do believe however it's time to prep for a big maintenance job. Needs a good clean, brake pads and cables checking, etc.

After weighing costs and future upgrades and all that, decided to purchase an Eggrider V2.
Supposedly, the UK version of the #Radwagon4 has a 500w motor, but is restricted to 250w.
I'd originally been thinking of upgrading the motor, but if that's what is in there already, I'll hold off for now and just unlock what I have. -

Absolutely do not ever buy a #radwagon4 if you're thinking about getting an ebike, and if you can afford it don't buy anything from Rad at all. The proprietary tire is extremely hard to replace and has had a lot of problems. We had a previous revision of the Rad Wagon that was acceptable at the price point (and would still have if it hadn't been stolen), but this one is total garbage.
Also Fuck Rad Power Bikes in general. Their customer service is awful. If you ever manage to actually talk to a person, they can't do anything to help you.

Yesterday I put 15.6 miles on the wagon hauling kids, groceries and garden supplies. None of the cycling was done with efficiency in mind. So overnight I plugged it into my energy monitoring plug. Results were 0.26 kWh to fully charge. This means I averaged 60 miles per kWh. #BikeTooter #energy #radwagon4 #CarReplacement #ebike #cargobike

Today I put my #RadWagon4 to the test and bought some roof felt to fix my garden shed.
After I got used to the initial weight change, it was perfect, and took it in it's stride.I honestly expected this job to take longer, but at least my shed will be rainproof for the next few years, and I get on with the task of installing a 120w solar panel.

Was coming home from a #RochMN Target run on my #radwagon4 when I saw a cargo trike that looked much like the one below. The lady driving said she got it in Denmark and moved it here. She had replaced the rear wheel with a hub motor. Way too many hills in town to leave it acoustic. Anyway, very pleasant surprise. #BikeTooter
