Any one using a #quinled an-penta-mini with #homeassistant ? Does it work OK out of the box ?
I have some dumb analogue 12v RGB four wire LEDs to automate.
It's sold on some weird "allnet china" I've never heard of but the project looks legit and simple turn-key operation.... -
Looking to install two LED strips at home. Desired features:
- Controlled via WiFi or #Zigbee
- #HomeAssistant integration
- RGBW strips, individually addressable
- Either comes with a diffusor or is compatible with standard diffusors (is "not being compatible with that" even a thing?)
- Length: Two strips of ~2 Meters each, ideally with a shared controller and PSU to avoid duplicating functionality, but I'm willing to compromise here
- I'm willing to pay a certain premium not to have to worry about all the technical details (i.e., I would prefer a plug-and-play solution to a mix-and-match "buy a controller, PSU, and strips separately from AliExpress and pray that they interoperate properly").
- Would like to avoid having to buy a proprietary hub to use it (zigbee2mqtt-compatibility would be perfect).
- Will be installed in the bedroom, so it is important that the PSU does not emit any high-pitched noise.
- Should be available in EU / Germany.Any recommendations from the #HomeAsssistant hivemind? Or should I just bite the bullet, get a #QuinLED and figure out all the technical details myself after all?

This is the @hackeriet table at the #38c3 @coldnorth assembly.
We have a string of LED pixels on the table, and an LED strip (2x 5m) hanging from a rope. The rope is tied to @bornhack 's projector screen on one end, and the far end of our table on the other.
We also have some messages printed with a receipt printer which hang from the LED strip.
Everything 12V and fully addressable, running of of two #QuinLED Unos running #WLED

For quite a long time I use the #quinled boards. One of my all-time favorites is the #diy board quinled-an-deca aka quinled-deca. I've multiple of these boards in house and they do a great job 😃 The only thing I missed was a proper case for these boards. But this is now solved 😊 during the last few days I found some spare time to work on a simple and easy to print case which is now free to download 🤓🥳

Today's #projects post is
My #QuinLED Dig Quad showed up in the mail yesterday. I have #WLED connected and got all the #HolidayLights wired up. Now all that is left to do is figure out how to mount them to the house.
Everyone who goes the addressable LED route always seems to line them up perfectly like a landing strip. I'm going to see if I can get more of an old school C9 bulb random look this #Christmas.

This is what I am planning to use for permanent installation when they come back in stock.

Dig-Quad or Dig-Uno depending on how many lights you need. The boards are made by (but sold in the US by DrZzs). They run wLed.
Not only does wLed easily integrate with Home Assistant but if you want to do fancier light shows down the road it work with xLights too.

Just placed an order to deck out the house with individually addressable lights this #Christmas.
I planning to use #wled and the #Quinled Dig-Quad with strings of addressable lights.
I found the The Hook Up's 2021 holiday light guide very helpful.
