Saturday project was completing the wiring on my #wled controller and getting the lights themselves hung. 1/3 strings complete, now testing by running at full brightness white - everything happy. Overengineering success.

@zrail fair, I find gap files in #wled and segmentation much easier plus if you want to make any specific change you can compile your own. I have a few interesting configurations and found esphome to be basic at best and useful for specific tasks but lacked flexibility. Where as wled has a far more mature code and documentation.

Last weeks I was busy building stuff for surf and skate festival "MadNes". Got a request to build a sign for one of the stages. This is the result! The concept of spaced layers worked quite well and on the side made cable management realy easy! Already looking forward to improve this concept in a new project :)

Hardware used: ~6m WS2812B led strip, Quinled Dig Next 2 controller (running WLED), Mean Well LRS-50-12 power supply, 1 rear bicycle light + common hardware store materials.

One of our members upgraded their 3D printer lighting with a WLED-powered LED strip on an ESP32-C3, powered via a buck converter from the printer's own supply. Two buttons cycle through work, camera, and fireworks modes. The highlight: an automatic progress bar animation every 30 seconds while printing. Logic runs in Node-RED, integrated with Home Assistant.

Someone familiar with #wled? I installed it on a small #esp32 board (mini d1 esp32), and wired vcc, gnd, io16 to a SK68112 RGBW LED Strip.

I see the LEDs lighting up, but the colors seem to be all mixed up. Admitedly, my knowledge on soldering, electronics and what I'm doing is quite limited, but that the colors are all over the place confuses me. Anything essential I might be missing in my thinking?
